Tourist advert of the Silesian Voivodship (also Silesia Province, Wojewodztwo Slaskie) located in Southern Poland. Silesian Voivodship is not only an industrial region of Poland developing rapidly but also a place of nice landscapes and historic and picturesque cities and towns and culture. It is worth a visit is the historic beautiful city of Lodz.

At the square in 1827 stood Town Hall, and the Evangelical church St. Trinity (the first representative buildings of Lodz). In 1898 to the square reached new trams, and the marketplace has been transformed into a representative square. The market was renamed Freedom Square at the time of regaining independence in 1918. In 1930, the center of the square, stood the statue of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. After annexation by Nazi Lodz German occupation authorities demolished the statue of Lodz, 11 November 1939, and renamed the square to Children's Freiheitsplatz, and in 1940 the Deutschlandplatz. Several hundred metres south of the Old Town a new settlement grew in the 1820s. It opened up the straight-line course of Piotrkowski Trakt, its making was the beginning of the industrial development of the city. The square in the middle of the settlement functioned as a market place. It can be still seen in the post-cards from the beginning of the century. The architecture of the oldest part of the frontage had an interesting look, too. On both sides of ul. Piotrkowska two buildings were raised in 1826-1828, close to each other in terms of their Classicist form - the town hall and the Evangelical church of the Holy Trinity, designed by Bonifacy Witkowski, architect of the Mazovian Voivodship Committee. From the east the square has got a small, rectangular annex with an arcade. This is a remainder of the Old Town butcher's stalls, ace. to the design by H. Marconi from the first half of the 19th century. The church, the main dominante of the square, acquired its present-day form in the years 1889-1896. Today the temple, under the invocation of the Holy Trinity, is used by the Roman Catholics. Attention ought to be paid to the monumental building of the Archeological and Ethnograpic Museum, housed in the former municipal offices. It acquired its present-day form in the course of the thorough transformations introduced in the years 1924-26 by the architect W. Lisowski. Originally, there was the oldest Lodz school that stood in this place, founded in 1856) - still another evidence of the former importance of Nowy Rynek. On the other hand, the oldest, uniform residential architecture of the most distinct city square has disappeared altogether. It was demolished after the last war and partly replaced with the houses designed by R. Millo. Only two tenements from the turn of the 20th c have remained. One of them is decorated with the statue of the lion - the king of the numerous enough 'Lodz jungle', there being suprisingly many representations of animals upon the city facades.There is also an insignificant tenement, converted from a still older house -the seat of the oldest Lodz chemist's, owned by Ketschman. Finally, there is the well, decorated with dolphins, cabs (droshkys) used to wait for their passengers at not so long ago. The central part of the square is marked by a high obelisk, resembling a chimney, but functioning as the pedestal for the statue of Commander Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Plac Wolnosci is the local transport junction, but also a perfect landmark and the starting point for many a tourist sightseeing route.

The Manufaktura is an arts centre, shopping mall, and leisure complex in Łódź, Poland. It occupies the space between Zachodnia, Ogrodowa, Drewnowska, and Karskiego Streets.[1]
The Manufaktura opened on 17 May 2006, after 5 years of planning and the subsequent 4 years of construction. The total area of the complex is 27 hectares (67 acres). The work involved the renovation of an old factory building. The Manufaktura is located in the central part of the city, in the former industrial complex founded by Izrael Poznański, which is known also as the filming location of the novel by Władysław Reymont titled The Promised Land about the industrialization of the city of Łódź.
The Manufaktura hosts over 300 stores, malls, restaurants, pastry shops, cafes, pubs and other services. The service sector extends over 12,000 m². The entire complex has a surface of 30,000 m², making it Poland's second largest only to the Old Market Square in Kraków. Its large square features Europe's longest fountain at 300 meters. Clients can go along the complex with two trambuses.[1]
Besides the commercial area, the Manufaktura includes a restaurant complex, car parks, a cultural centre (including an art museum, a science museum, an industrial museum, and the Museum of the City of Łódź – the last of which is situated in the neighbouring Izrael Poznański’s Palace), and an entertainment centre (featuring a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley, a climbing wall, a fitness club, and a skatepark).

Warsaw Adventure offers a pleasant and relaxing cruise on the Vistula River between May and September. The river is a great place from which to see the sights while sipping a beer. Expect to meet the symbol of Warsaw -- the mermaid -- while on board.
Bus tours
Mazurkas Travel and Warsaw City Tours offer three-hour tours of the main sights, including the Old Town and Royal Route, sometimes with stops at Wilanów Palace or the Royal Castle. Pick up for tours is from a variety of city hotels. Do-it-yourself tour son public transport include bus 180, operating between Powązki Cemetery and Wilanów, and bus 100, which passes by the Old Town, Citadel and Warsaw Rising Museum.
Driving tours
Visitors can take a trip around the Old Town in dorozki, a horse-drawn hackney cab. These are run by individuals, licensed by the city, and wait for passengers at the Old Town Square. An outfit with the unusual name of the Workshop of Unusual Travels - PiPiN for short - offers vintage car and bicycle tours of Warsaw's major sites as well as some of its lesser-known spots off the beaten track.
Walking tours
Trakt Guide and Travel Agency offers personalised English-speaking tour guides, while Our Roots specialises in tours of the city's Jewish sites. These tours usually last between four and five hours and are by no means cheap. But they allow visitors to design their own tailor-made tours, with stops at attractions and site visits of special interest to them.

Kampinoski Park Narodowy (Kampinoski National Park)
Kampinoski National Park, with walking trails, education centre and abundant wildlife, begins at Warsaw's northwestern border and stretches west for about 40km (25 miles). One of its major features is its inland sand dunes, which stand in stark contrast to the surrounding peat bogs. The park is open from dawn to dusk and admission is free. Reach it by bus from the central station, Warszawa Zachodnia, Aleje Jerozolimskie 144.
Toruń
This UNESCO World Heritage walled medieval town is where the 16th century astronomer and mathematician Mikolaj Kopernik (Copernicus) was born. Picturesque pathways along the Vistula River lead to the ruins of the 13th-century castle of the Teutonic Knights; the gothic townhouse where Copernicus was born is located at Ulica Kopernika 17. The city is 227km (141 miles) northwest of Warsaw and can be reached by train from Warszawa Centralna station in three hours.
Zelazowa Wola
This tiny village 54km (34 miles) west of Warsaw is where the great composer Frédéric Chopin was born in 1810. A museum dedicated to him is located in his family's manor house. Żelazowa Wola is located inside Kampinoski National Park and can be reached by bus from the main station, Warszawa Zachodnia, Aleje Jerozolimskie 144. Both Mazurkas Travel and Polish Landscape offer day trips here from the major hotels in Warsaw.
Łódź
This somewhat gritty city-- it's pronounced `wooch - located 140km (87 miles) southwest of Warsaw, hides a treasure trove of palatial mansions, art nouveau public buildings and museums. By all means, visit the vanguard art galleries but the Central Museum of Textiles in an early 19th-century spinning mill is where the city's heart lies and the Jewish Quarter is worth a stroll around. Frequent trains form Warsaw complete the journey between 2-12 hours.

Kielce is the capital of the Świętokrzyskie province in the southeast of Poland, located about 180 km south of the capital Warsaw. Kielce is on the list of the cities of Poland on the seventeenth place with about 200,000 inhabitants.
