Tyninghame House - East Lothian, Scotland UK
When I went to Scotland I enjoyed a visit to the grounds of gorgeous Tyninghame House in East Lothian. This is one of the prettiest manor settings I've ever seen.

What You Need to Know:
1. Brrr, it's cold out there
Edinburgh is located in the Northern Hemisphere, so expect chills year-round. Bring a sweater or two, even in the summer.
2. Edinburgh vs. Glasgow
The two Scottish cities are pretty competitive, so it's not a good idea to trash talk one or the other in a mixed crowd.
3. Know the ingredients
Scottish specialties, such as haggis and black pudding, have some ingredients American palates might not be accustomed to.
Best Times to Visit Edinburgh.
The best time to visit Edinburgh is June through August when the average high temperatures rise to a balmy 65 degrees Fahrenheit. But this is also the city's busiest time for tourism, especially in August when festivals fill up the calendar. To avoid spending a small fortune, you'll have to bundle up: winter (November to March) offers the best low-season deals, except during the city's New Year's celebration, Hogmanay. Spring and early fall are the sweet spots – relatively mild weather and thin crowds pair with the chance to find hotel and airfare deals.

Outlander s03e04 Sneak Peek Of Lost Things [HD] Season 3 Episode 4 Sneak Peek ‘Helwater’
We are left in episode 3 with Frank dead in a car crash and jamie being called of to Helswater.
Now if you ask me, Claire didn’t seem overly distraught at the loss of of her Husband, Frank. Is this because she could now run off to her Husband in in Scotland.
So the backdrop to episode 4 is that Ardsmuir is closing and the prisoners are being sent to the colonies. Jamie is being marched away from Ardsmuir in shackles behind Grey's horse. After walking for three days, Grey tells Jamie he's delivering him to Hellwater, where he'll serve a new host. Grey tells Jamie not to reveal his real name or that he's a Scot. Not sure how he was gong to do that with his strong Accent. When Jamie asks Grey why he's doing this, Grey says he regrets his moment of weakness with Jamie, and as Jamie gave him his life years ago, Grey is giving Jamie his life now.
The scenes at Helwater were primarily shot at 2 locations. Gosford House and Hopetoun House and the rest was shot inside the studio at Cumbernauls just outside glasgow. Now you will remember that both these locations were used in previous episodes, especially the French scenes.
Gosford House
Doubling as the stable house at Versailles, Gosford house appears in the second series while Claire and Jamie are desperately try to create good terms with Bonnie Prince Charlie.
If you are coming to visit any of these beuitiful family estates next year, just remember that Hopetoun House is only open from March to october and that Gosford House is only open on special allocated days during the summer. You need to check both their web sites to find out what days they are open. Now inside Gosford house you are not allowed to take photos. Both these houses have some absolutely stunning art works.
Im going to give you a quick timeline of whats happening in this episode. If you have not read the books, then i suggest you switch off now.
So Gosford House is Helwater, where Jamie is a groomsman. Without giving away too much, he finds something else there to live for. He gets sucked into the private lives pulled into of a noble British family.
They had the stables already in the estate, but we added to that and built a whole street with cobblers and tradesmen.
1756
* July: The prisoners at Ardsmuir are released and have their sentences commuted to indentured servitude in the American colonies – except for Jamie, who learns he is to serve his parole on an estate in England.
* September: Jamie arrives at Helwater to serve as a groom for the Dunsany family.
1757
* Geneva Dunsany blackmails Jamie into taking her virginity shortly before she will be forced to marry a much older man.
1758
* Geneva gives birth to a son, and dies in childbirth. Her husband, the Earl of Ellesmere, threatens to drop the newborn out of a window, and Jamie shoots the man, killing him, and saves the child.
* Lady Dunsany asks Jamie if he would like his freedom, and he declines.
1764
* July: Jamie makes the heart-wrenching decision to leave Helwater, once William's resemblance to himself becomes too noticeable.
* September: Lord John tells Jamie he will marry Isobel Dunsany and become William's stepfather. Jamie offers his body to Lord John, who declines. Jamie kisses him.
There are some new characters in this episode.
Richard Rankin will make his first appearance this season as Roger Wakefield while Sophie Skelton returns as Claire and Jamie’s daughter.
The duo travels to Scotland to research Jamie’s place in history (and fall in love).
As for Claire Claire, Brianna and Roger struggle to trace Jamie's whereabouts, leaving Clarie to wonder if they will ever find him.
