Ad Epernay, cittadina coquette e capitale della regione dello Champagne, vi è un viale lungo 2,5 km che è stato classificato tra i Sites remarquables du Goût in Francia: Avenue de Champagne. L'economia di Epernay con i suoi 25,000 abitanti e circa 30,000 ettari di vigneti estesi tra i suoi 21 comuni è prevalentemente di tipo agroalimentare, il cui motore è il mercato dello champagne.
Avenue de Champagne è definita il viale più costoso del mondo, addirittura più chère degli Champs Elysées, indirizzo delle sedi di grandes maison de production et de négoce du champagne come Moët et Chandon, Mercier, De Castellane e per le sottostanti cantine costituite da gallerie scavate nel gesso che si estendono per oltre 100 chilometri e che custodisco milioni di bottiglie.
Avenue de Champagne è percorribile a piedi o in auto dalla centrale Place de la Republique fino al rond point di Place de Champagne (per il primo km), continuando verso sud-est in direzione Côtes des Blancs più verdeggiante.
