Mira is a comune in the province of Venice, Veneto, Italy. It is part of the Metropolitan City of Venice and the 11th most populous comune of Veneto. It is situated on the Riviera del Brenta, midway between Padua and Venice and it's crossed by SR11 Regional road. The main attraction are the Villa Foscari, designed by Andrea Palladio, and the Villa Widmann-Foscari. The southeastern part it's characterized by the barene, typical lagoon islands linked by canals and periodically submerged by the tide. These barene constitute a third of the whole commune's surface.

    The Ponte Vecchio or Ponte degli Alpini is the covered wooden pontoon bridge designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in 1569. The bridge is located in Bassano del Grappa and was destroyed many times, the last time in World War II. The bridge spans the river Brenta. The Brenta river was an important means of communication in the 18th century from the mountains of Grappa to Venice.
