1. Abbaye de Fontenay Montbard
The Abbey of Fontenay is a former Cistercian abbey located in the commune of Marmagne, near Montbard, in the département of Côte-d'Or in France. It was founded by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in 1118, and built in the Romanesque style. It is one of the oldest and most complete Cistercian abbeys in Europe, and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Of the original complex comprising church, dormitory, cloister, chapter house, caldarium, refectory, dovecote and forge, all remain intact except the refectory and are well maintained. The Abbey of Fontenay, along with other Cistercian abbeys, forms a connecting link between Romanesque and Gothic architectures.

Le pal is a French park that combines two activities: an amusement park and a zoo near the municipality area of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Bresbre, close to Dompierre-sur-Besbre, in the Allier, France. The Briare Aqueduct carries the Canal latéral à la Loire over the River Loire on its journey to the River Seine in France. It replaced a river-level crossing from the canal to meet the Briare Canal that was hazardous in times of flood. Between 1896 and 2003 it was the longest navigable aqueduct in the World until the opening of the Magdeburg Water Bridge. It is part of the Canal latéral à la Loire, not, as is commonly believed, the Briare Canal.

Le Morvan (anciennement Morvand) est un massif de hautes collines français situé en Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, aux confins des départements de la Côte-d'Or, de la Nièvre, de Saône-et-Loire et de l'Yonne. Il domine à l'ouest la dépression du Bazois et le Nivernais, au nord l'Avallonnais et la Terre-Plaine, au nord-est la dépression de l'Auxois, au sud et au sud-est les plaines du Charolais et de l'Autunois.

Le Morvan peut difficilement être considéré comme un massif montagneux : sur le plan climatique, ses altitudes maximales le rangent à l'étage collinéen.

Le point culminant du massif du Morvan est le Haut Folin (901 mètres d’altitude). La région est marquée par un réseau hydrographique dense, avec notamment de nombreux lacs artificiels, et par un fort boisement. Le Morvan est constitué en parc naturel régional depuis 1970. C'est le relief significatif le plus proche de l'agglomération parisienne. Il peut être considéré comme une avant-garde granitique du Massif central.

Les habitants du Morvan sont les Morvandeaux ou Morvandiaux (plus rarement Morvandaux) et les Morvandelles.

Le lac des Settons (les Cheutons en bourguignon-morvandiau) est un lac artificiel de 366 hectares, alimenté principalement par les eaux de la Cure, et situé au cœur du parc naturel régional du Morvan dans la Nièvre. Le lac des Settons se situe au sud de la ville de Montsauche-les-Settons. Il fait partie des Grands lacs du Morvan.
