There are many places around Kathmandu to see great mountain view and natural beauty. Nagarkot is one of them. It lies at an altitude of 2150m and is located 32 kilometers north-east of Kathmandu.
Nagarkot offers a large variety of accommodations from simple affordable lodges and Home Stays to high class Resorts and Hotels.However, many hotels were damaged in the 2015 earthquake and it will be some time before the village is fully back on its feet .
Mount Everest is seen only in a clear day from the view point tower which is located at the highest point in Nagarkot. It is around 5 km from the Nagarkot Bus stop in South .
The best month to visit Nagarkot is from October to April
Taking Kathmandu to Nagarkot by local public bus is the cheapest way to reach Nagarkot. Public bus to Nagarkot can be taken from Bhaktapur Bus Stop in Kathmandu which is located to the east of Ratna Park. It costs ticket price of NPR 25 to reach Kamalbinayak of Bhaktapur. Kamalbinayak can be reached in about 35 minutes by following Araniko Highway. Bus stop to Nagarkot is located at the edge of Kamalbinayak Pokhari. Another one hour of ride from Kamal Binayak Pokhari will take you to Nagarkot for the price of NPR 45.
It is much expensive to ask for taxi from Kathmandu to Nagarkot. I recommend you to go for local bus .
You can participate in Nagarkot Day hiking Tours. The tour can either start from Sankhu or from Sundarijal or from Changunarayan. It is possible to hike to Nagarkot and return to Kathmandu on a single day.

Nepal Travel Vlog Day 7 - Kathmandu to Nagarkot (In search of Himalayan Views)
Day 7 of my Nepal Travel vlog sees us leave Kathmandu by Private car and head towards Nagarkot. We heard about a place called Peaceful Cottage where you can see amazing views of the Himalayan Mountain ranges while sitting on the terrace having a beer (or whatever takes your fancy).
We had to endure over 3 hours of travel on some of the worst, dusty and polluted roads I have ever experienced to get there.
Thank you for watching.

Nagarkot A Beautiful Place of NEPAL || नगरकोट नेपाल || wavenepal
Nagarkot has a reputation as the top spot for enjoying Himalayan views from the comfort of your hotel balcony. Just 32km from Kathmandu, the village is packed with hotels lining a ridge, affording one of the broadest possible views of the Himalaya, with eight ranges visible (Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Everest and Numbur). However, timing is everything, as the mountains are notorious for disappearing behind cloudy skies. The best viewing seasons are October to December and March to April, when clear skies are likely.
