7 Things to do In Aruba
Located 15 miles north of Venezuela, Aruba likes to brag about its warm weather and warm people. The island’s slogan is “One Happy Island,” so I’m sharing the activities and attractions that brought a smile to my face during a recent visit. Here are my top picks for things to do on Aruba.

10 Things NOT to Do in Aruba
Get more Tips here!
Aruba has it all – from the constant trade winds and year-round nice weather to its pristine coastline with its sugary white sand and friendly islanders. But if your goal is to stay safe while having the time of your life, here are 10 things you shouldn’t do while visiting Aruba.
1. Don’t Worry About Paying in USD
You don’t have to worry about exchanging your USD (Visual: Exchange Office). While dining out or making any sort of transaction, you’ll be asked which currency you prefer. And, thankfully, most vendors will gladly accept American dollars.
2. Don’t Be Afraid to Drink the Water
It’s some of the cleanest H2O in the world. Thanks to their desalination process, bottled water isn’t needed, and their tap water meets the highest standards of quality by the World Health Organization..
3. Don’t Skip the Sunscreen
You’ll want to make sure you apply it each and every day while visiting Aruba. Since the island is 12 degrees north of the equator, the UV rays and solar radiation is strong. Even when it’s cloudy outside, play it safe and lather up!
4. Don’t Expect to See Street Signs
Street signs are sometimes nonexistent or hidden. Motorcycles and ATVs don’t follow traffic rules, so be on high alert. Also, in the rural parts of the island, you’ll want to watch out for goats and other animals that tend to cross the roads unexpectedly.
5. Don’t Travel to the San Nicolas District at Night
Many tourists head out to this area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy resort areas of Palm Beach. While you’ll find the beach to be idyllic, after nightfall there is an increased risk of crime, including petty theft.
6. Don’t Take a Taxi Without Negotiating
Since they aren’t equipped with meters (Visual: Taximeter), drivers will base the cost on the destination rather than the amount of mileage. To avoid any kind of confusion, ask for the total price upfront.
7. Don’t Forget Insect Repellent
This climate has an increased risk of mosquito-borne illnesses, such as chikungunya and dengue fever, and also Zika virus, so pregnant women should really take caution. To combat the risk of being infected, insect repellent is highly recommended.
8. Don’t Go to Chain Restaurants (Visual: Hard Rock Cafe)
Aruba has some of the tastiest locally caught fish, and you can enjoy a moderately priced meal at some of the island’s most popular restaurants, including the Italian eatery Casa Tua and delicious BBQ at Smokey Joe’s Island Grill.
9. Don’t Book a Jeep Tour
Many travelers suggest you skip out on booking one entirely. Instead, you can rent your own open-air jeep for as little as $80, and it can comfortably seat up to 4 people. You can act as your own tour guide as you explore the pristine island.
10. Don’t Rent a Car Without Learning the Rules of the Road
Right turns are prohibited at red lights, and U-turns are often restricted. Seat belts are always required, of course, and children under the age of 5 must ride in a child safety seat. Aside from that, make sure to have fun and enjoy your stay at this tropical paradise!

#aruba is not only a great cruise destination, but also suitable for a relaxing holiday. We tested it this year and put together a few impressions. The RIU Palace Aruba on Palm Beach was our host and we miss our beach days and daily snorkeling right off the beach. Varied was our island tour by jeep, the trips to Oranjestad and the tour to the island the Palm. I can say it was one of our best holidays on one of the islands under the wind ...

The beautiful palm beach surrounded by palm trees is ideal for swimmers and snorkelers with its calm clear turquoise waters. The variety of water sports, the beautiful piers and the beach bars attract not only to the daily sunset the numerous tourists. If you stroll along the path behind the kilometer-wide beach, you also get great insights into the gardens of resonant hotel chains in the world. Many souvenir shops, restaurants and bars make the Caribbean feel perfect, although this area is controversial for its high-rise hotels on #aruba. The Palm Beach is a public beach, so it is accessible everywhere for everyone.

Aruba's Top 5 Views in VR / 360 Degrees
See Aruba's most scenic spots in VR / 360 degrees! For a better experience, view with your Google Cardboard on a mobile phone.
We all choose vacation destinations for different reasons. Call me Instagram-obsessed if you must, but one of the things I always look for in a destination is its photogenic potential. Before I book, I want to know what’s worth photographing while I’m there and how other people have shot it. This too was the case while planning my most recent international trip to Aruba.
Now that I’ve returned from One Happy Island, I have a few tips and tricks to share. In an effort to help other budding photographers, I’ve come up with a list of places and attractions on Aruba that I found to be the most Instagram-worthy. You can see them in full, 360 degrees in the video below, which should make planning your shot list a snap.
Atardi
One of the best sunsets I saw in Aruba was at Atardi, a pop-up restaurant on Palm Beach. Part of the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Atardi features contemporary Caribbean cuisine with local flair and some killer cocktails.
Pro tip: Arrive about 10 minutes before sunset to get your bearings and explore the space. You may also want to photograph the sun as it peeks through the resort’s adjacent palapa grove.
Aruba’s Natural Pool
On its own, the Caribbean Sea vacillates between hues of sapphire, royal blue, turquoise and azure. Add the juxtaposition of Aruba’s rugged, rocky coastline, and you’ve got an image that really pops. If landscape photos are your thing, head to Arikok National Park for its dramatic rock formations, cliffs and beaches. The big payoff here is going for a swim in Aruba’s Natural Pool, which is no easy feat to find (you’ll have to take an ATV or an off-roading Land Rover tour).
Pro tip: Bring a waterproof camera with you and a sturdy tripod—the wind can be unpredictable.
Fort Zoutman
Located in Oranjestad, Fort Zoutman is Aruba’s oldest building as well as a historic museum that’s open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Climb its narrow stairs and ladder to the top of the tower for 360-degree views of the city and marina, where massive cruise ships pull up for the day.
Pro tip: You’ll want to have your hands free to navigate the ladder, so make sure you have a small backpack for your gear and travel lightly the day of your visit.
Flamingo Beach
Arguably the most Instagrammed attraction on Aruba is Flamingo Beach on Renaissance Island. Here, flamingos walk up to you in search of food pellets and might even eat right from your hand if they are hungry enough. To get to the island, you’ll have to take a boat from the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, which is free for hotel guests and $99 for everyone else.
Pro tip: Arrive as early as you can in the morning for two reasons: 1) There will be fewer people on the beach trying to get selfies with the flamingos and messing up your shots 2) The flamingos will be hungry and more interested in interacting with you.
Ruins of Aruba’s Natural Bridge
There is much to see in Arikok National Park, including the ruins of Aruba’s National Bridge. Formerly the most photographed attraction on the island, the limestone arch collapsed in 2005. Even though it doesn’t live up to its full potential, what remains is an elegant ode to nature amid crashing waves. Steps away is a smaller naturally-formed arch that visitors can cross. Locals have their own nickname for it—Son of a Bridge.
Pro tip: Wear closed-toed shoes so that you can get as close to the ruins as possible and walk all over Son of a Bridge (he deserves it).

Aruba Palm Beach strip 4K
english/ deutsch:
The Palm Beach Strip is located in the High Rise Area and offers everything that entertainment requires. In the American style you will find the Hard Rock Cafe #aruba, numerous restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and clubs for a sophisticated nightlife. It's all lined with shops, the Paseo Herencia Mall with its evening water features, and the Palm Beach Plaza Mall, with well-known brands. The Strip is within walking distance of all major hotels to reach, even with the carriage you can drive in the evening. What you expected there, I have briefly put together here.

Garniert ist das alles mit zahlreichen Geschäften, die Paseo Herencia Mall mit den abendlichen Wasserspielen und die Palm Beach Plaza Mall mit namhaften Marken.
