Williston is a city in and the county seat of Williams County, North Dakota, United States. The 2010 census gave its population as 14,716, and the Census Bureau gave the 2017 estimated population as 25,586, making Williston the sixth-largest city in North Dakota. The North Dakota oil boom is largely responsible for the sharp increase in population. Williston's newspapers, both in print and online, are the daily Williston Herald and the weekly The Williston Trader. Sloulin Field International Airport is a public airport 3.2 km north of the business district. Williston is the home of Williston State College and the Miss North Dakota Scholarship Pageant.

It is most widely known for the Air Force base located approximately 15 miles north of the city. With a population of 40,888 at the 2010 census, Minot is the fourth largest city in the state and a trading center for a large portion of northern North Dakota, southwestern Manitoba, and southeastern Saskatchewan. Founded in 1886 during the construction of the Great Northern Railway, Minot is also known as Magic City, commemorating its remarkable growth in size over a short time. The Taube Museum of Art is an art museum in Downtown Minot, North Dakota. The museum, previously known as the Minot Art Gallery, was named after Lillian and Coleman Taube.The organization was formed in 1970 and was initially located at the Linha home on US 83. It later moved to the Ward County Historical Society at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. In 1977, the group purchased the Union National Bank Building at 2 North Main Street. The building was constructed in 1923 after a fire gutted the former building at that location. The bank operated at this location until 1963, when a new bank was built at the southeast conrner of First Ave SW and First Street SW. Portage la Prairie is a small city in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba, Canada. As of 2016, the population was 13,304 and the land area of the city was 24.68 square kilometres . Portage la Prairie is approximately 75 kilometres west of Winnipeg, along the Trans-Canada Highway , and sits on the Assiniboine River, which flooded the town persistently until a diversion channel north to Lake Manitoba was built to divert the flood waters. The city is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie. According to Environment Canada, Portage la Prairie has the most sunny days during the warm months in Canada.It is the administrative headquarters of the Dakota Tipi First Nations reserve.
