My $54 SRI LANKA Hotel Room is AWESOME. (Ohiya village near Horton Plains National Park).
What does $54 get you in your country? In my country it certainly doesn't get you a nice hotel room with an incredible view and with dinner and breakfast included.
In the beautiful village of Ohiya, close to the Horton Plains National Park, I stayed in this lovely Eco Lodge. It was the perfect location with beautiful views of the tea estates in the valley and close enough to the park entrance that I could easily hike World's End when the park opened at 6am.
It was a few kilometres of steep terrain from the train station but with nice weather and beautiful views it was certainly worth walking there rather than taking a tuk tuk.

Ohiya (Path to Hortain Plains) - One of the most Scenic and Smallest Village in Sri Lanka
Ohiya is a small and scenic village situated in upcountry. It is well known for Hortain plains which is a beautiful national park located in highlands. Many travelers cross the path of Ohiya when traveling to Hortain Plains.
Reaching to Ohiya is somewhat difficult and have less public transport methods. However, it is located near the main upcountry train track. Therefore, it is easier to get there by the train.

10 days wonderful travel to SRI LANKA (after Easter 2019 attacks)
My wonderful 10 days trip to Sri Lanka in MAY 2019, a few weeks after the Easter attacks.
The country is simply amazing and I felt very secure and relaxed for the whole trip, after all the safety precautions have been taken by the government.
Discover the beauty of its nature, beaches, the authentic villages' simple life, the tasty food and the great smile of the population. I literally fell in love with Sri Lanka!

Chatting with SRI LANKAN Locals at Galle Fort Beach. (Cheap Day Trip by Train from Colombo,)
Galle is only a $1 and 2 hour train ride, making it the perfect day trip from Colombo. The fort was created by the Portuguese and then built up by the Dutch back in Sri Lanka's colonial past. It's now a bit of a tourist trap with overpriced restaurants and shops selling handicrafts, but the fort walls themselves are beautiful and you can walk on top of them all the way around the city. There's also some beach areas where the water is very clean and it's not crowded with tourists. I went for a swim and ended up chatting to some friendly locals.
Outside of the fort is where I went to eat as recommended by the locals. The food is more authentic and less costly than inside the fort walls.
Camping at Bambaragala Mountain Sri Lanka
Bambaragala mountain camping site is one of the best places to go camping in sri lanka. The camping sites has many view points to make your night more memorable. With a small hike from Ella wellawaya road you can reach the camping site, also you can visit many beautiful sites beforehand in Ella, which is a most popular place to visit in Sri lanka.
Ella Wala Falls is a small but beautiful waterfall lying on the Ella – Wellawaya Road. Not the closest waterfall to Ella, but still people go there to enjoy a bath as it got a natural pool like area to have some fun.
Ravana Falls is another must visit in Ella. Hill country of Sri Lanka is quite popular for beautiful waterfalls and Ravana Falls is right at the top.

One of the best hikes to go in Srilanka, A Land Like no Other...!
I took the DANGEROUS route. Hiking WORLD'S END trail in Horton Plains National Park, Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has some beautiful countryside and amazing hiking trails. One of the most famous is World's End in the Horton Plains National Park which also features a scenic waterfall called Baker's Falls.
Unfortunately, because it's so well known, there were bound to be many other people hiking that day so I aimed to start the trail at 6am when the park first opened. I wanted to be the first to the main viewpoint which features a 870m drop.
At Mini World's End', a smaller drop on the way to World's End there's a sign saying DANGER with a forward arrow and another saying World's End with a right arrow. I was curious so I took the path marked DANGER. Where did it lead me?
