Opole Voivodeship, or Opole Province , is the smallest and least populated voivodeship of Poland. The province's name derives from that of the region's capital and largest city, Opole. It is part of Upper Silesia. A relatively large German minority lives in the voivodeship, with representatives in the Sejm. Opole Voivodeship is bordered by Lower Silesian Voivodeship to the west, Greater Poland and Łódź Voivodeships to the north, Silesian Voivodeship to the east, and the Czech Republic to the south.   • 3. Niemodlin Castle Niemodlin
    Niemodlin [ɲeˈmɔdlʲin] is a town in Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, Poland, with 6,911 inhabitants . It was first mentioned as Nemodlin in a 1224 deed and received town privileges in 1283. Originally a part of the Duchy of Opole, after the death of Duke Bolko I Niemodlin became the capital of a duchy in his own right from 1313 to 1382. When the Opole line of the Piast dynasty became extinct in 1532, various noble families like the House of Zierotin and the Prazma held the estate until the 1940s, leaving a Renaissance castle, built about 1600.
