Padborg, the Danish city a few kilometers away from Germany

Padborg is a Danish town located on the border with Germany. Located a few kilometres northwest of Schleswig's historic commercial centre, Flensburg, Padborg was a small settlement when the region returned to Danish rule in 1920 following a plebiscite, but grew rapidly in size after the establishment of the current border. It is a transport centre and railway town. When the border was established in 1920, the originally planned border line was moved c. 200 metres south of Padborg in order to allow construction of the railway station and a customs office. Padborg is well known in Denmark for its motorsport ring, Padborg Park, and the head offices of the large discount chain Fleggaard. Padborg has a broad based transport industry with most of the largest European transport companies having local offices. (source: wikipedia)

Ende 2017 bin ich in Andalusien, Spanien auf dem GR7 gestartet um zu Fuß einmal durch Europa bis ans Nordkap zu laufen, ~8500km. In diesem Kapitel bin ich im Mai auf dem dänischen Ochsenweg, dem Hærvejen unterwegs.

The quiet and picturesque town of Gråsten in Denmark

Gråsten (German: Gravenstein) is a town on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in south Denmark by the Nybøl Nor at an inlet of the Flensburg Fjord. It belongs to the Sønderborg municipality in Region of Southern Denmark. The town is located almost exactly at the center of a triangle defined by the towns of Aabenraa, Flensburg and Sønderborg Castle. The Egernsund Bridge, which crosses the Egern Strait, connects Gråsten with the town of Egernsund. The Gravenstein apple originates from the city. (source: wikipedia)

Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!
