The Belvedere Lookout has panoramic views of the island’s peaks and Tahiti beyond.

This museum, which was opened by Hall's family, contains a number of the author's belongings. You can also take a short staff-led tour of the house, which is an exact reproduction of Hall's home.

Tahiti Road Trip -Vaipahi Gardens - Belvedere De Taralaol (lookout)
The Vaipahi Gardens located along Tahiti’s south coast in the district of Mataiea 49 km (30 miles) from Papeete are rich in cultural heritage and abundant in natural beauty.
There over 75 different species of vegetation, all kept fresh by water from lake Vaihiria in the center of the island, Tahiti’s only fresh water lake.
There are three walks available. One of the walks takes visitors along marked paths next to the river. Along the way are archeological sites steeped in history, as well as shaded areas created by pine trees that adorn the forest, a rather surprising sight on the island of Tahiti. This walk ends at a plateau with overhangings cliffs and a spectacular view of the entire park encompassing the Vaipahi gardens and the varying shades of blue in the lagoon and ocean, framed by the sunny shores of the main island.
it’s worth taking the one other road on the island which climbs up onto a large, central plateau (from Taravao), eventually arriving a panoramic lookout – the Belvédère de Taravao.
Brian Surfing: French Polynesia Nature Documentary
Enjoy this aerial tour of Brian surfing a beautiful wave in the South Pacific!
I am in awe of his surfing ability, and he is progressively getting better by surfing often at the same spot. He loves this wave and has made a lot of progress here.
I am a new drone pilot but am determined to capture the moment, the feeling, of surfing at this particular place where Brian spends so many enjoyable hours.
Flying over a breaking wave is an advanced drone task. My first two flights are failures with only mediocre media. But I start to learn which angles are best and come to terms with the fact this flight plan will not be simple and I'll have to up my skills.
There were more failed attempts. Then, this morning I got the perfect video! It feels incredible to have this media in our possession to commemorate a meaningful time in a memorable place. But I almost lose the drone doing it. Yikes.
