The town of Khirsu has three seasons – summer, winter and monsoon. The climate that the town of Khirsu experiences is sub tropical, where summers are warm and not too hot and winters are cold. The best time to visit the town of Khirsu would be during the summer months, when people normally flock to Khirsu in order to escape the heat experienced in the mainland.
Summers in the town of Khirsu run through the months of April, May and June, and these three months will experience a maximum temperature of around forty five degrees (45°C) and a minimum temperature of around twenty nine degrees (29°C). This is a good time to visit the hill station.
The monsoon months of July, August and September experience moderate rainfall, and this is not an ideal time to visit Khirsu as your travel around the town will be affected due to rains.
Winters in the town of Khirsu normally extend through the months of October, November, December and January. These months will experience a maximum temperature of around twenty five degrees (25°C) and a minimum temperature of around zero degrees (0°C). The early winter months are also a good time to visit Khirsu.
How to reach Khirsu : A motorable road connects Khirsu with Pauri, the nearest town. Pauri is well connected through roads with Dehradun, Rishikesh and Kotdwar. But, a trek from Pauri, down the Kandoliya hills offers the most exciting alternative route to Khirsu.

It was founded as a military garrison under the British Raj, and the Garhwali Museum traces the history of the Garhwal Rifles regiment, which still trains in the town. उत्तराखंड लंबे समय से अपने धार्मिक इतिहास के लिए जाना जाता है । खिरसू उन पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक है , जो की वर्तमान समय में एक प्रसिद्ध हिल स्टेशन के रूप में प्रसिद्ध है | खिरसू उत्तराखंड राज्य के पौड़ी गढ़वाल जिले में स्थित एक प्रसिद्ध हिल स्टेशन है | यह एक रमणीक स्थल है । खिरसू असल में एक गांव है , जिसे उत्तराखंड राज्य बनने के बाद पर्यटन स्थल का दर्जा दिया गया । खिरसू समुन्द्रतल से लगभग 1700 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है लेकिन यह स्थान Lansdowne की तुलना में ज्यादा ठंडा है क्योंकि पूरा गांव उच्च पहाड़ियों और घने जंगल (देवदार और ओक) से घिरा हुआ है | खिरसू हिल स्टेशन में ओक के पेड़, देवदार के पेड़ और सेब के बगीचे हैं |
इस स्थान के एक कोने से दुसरे कोने तक देखने पर ऊँच पहाड़ी , घने जंगल और कई अन्य जगहों का आनंद ले सकते है | यह जगह पर्यटकों के बीच कभी भी बहुत लोकप्रिय नहीं रही थी , बल्कि समय के साथ-साथ और पर्यटकों द्वारा ठंडी, सुखद और प्रदूषण मुक्त वातावरण की तलाश के कारण यह जगह एक बहुत ही लोकप्रिय और प्रसिद्ध पहाड़ी स्थल के रूप में उभर कर सामने आई और वर्तमान में इस स्थान को प्रसिद्ध हिल स्टेशन के रूप में पहचान मिली | अब यह जगह उत्तराखंड में सबसे प्रतिष्ठित जगहों में से एक है |
1700 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित होने के कारण , खिरसू हिल-स्टेशन हिमालय के शानदार एवम् मनमोहक दृश्य प्रदान करता है | “घिदियाल” नामक देवता का प्राचीन मंदिर भी खिरसू के पास स्थित है | घिदियाल देवी का मंदिर सभी हिंदू भक्तों के लिए प्रसिद्ध स्थल है । प्रकृति का आनंद लेने के लिए खिरसू एक आदर्श हिल स्टेशन है | खिरसू हिल स्टेशन से पक्षी-पक्षियों की विभिन्न जाति के साथ-साथ विभिन्न हिमालयी फ्लोरा का आनंद ले सकते हैं । खिरसू से यदि ट्रैकिंग करनी है तो फिर काफी ऊंचाई पर स्थित फुरकंडा प्वाइंट है । यहां से खिरसू और आसपास के गांवों का विहंगम दृश्य दिखायी देता है । खिरसू हिल स्टेशन से हिमालय की लगभग 300 ज्ञात और अज्ञात चोटियों को निहार सकते हैं | यह जगह शहरी “कोलाहल अर्थात शोर गुल” से दूर एक शांतिप्रिय जगह है | यदि आप पौड़ी गढ़वाल आते है तो आप “खिरसू” हिल स्टेशन जाना ना भूले |
Activities to do in खिरसू,
nature Walk:- पाइन, ओक और देवदार के घने जंगलों के रूप में प्राकृतिक सुंदरता से घिरे होने के कारण खिरसू की सुन्दरता में चार चाँद लग जाते है एवम् यह नज़ारा काफी ही मनमोहक होता है | प्रकृति वन के माध्यम से पास के गांवों तक चली जाती है , जिसके कारण खिरसू में प्राकर्तिक भ्रमण करना काफी लोकप्रिय हैं |
Village Tourism :- खिरसू , उत्तराखंड के छुपे हुए गहने में से एक है और कम पर्यटक गतिविधि के कारण , वर्षों के दौरान इस स्थान में पर्यटको का आना कम रहता है । खिरसू और इसके आसपास के गांव , पहाड़ियों में देहाती अभी तक शांतिपूर्ण जीवन का अनुभव करने के लिए पूर्ण अवसर प्रदान करते हैं ।
Bird Watching:- खिरसू में पक्षियों की अनेक प्रजाति देखी जाती है एवम् यह जगह अपनी प्रकार्तिक सुन्दरता और विभिन्न प्रकार की पक्षियों के देखे जाने के लिए भी मशहूर है | यह जगह पक्षियों की कई प्रजातियों का घर है | पक्षियों का चह-चाहना और पहाड़ों की चोटी पर सूरज की रोशनी के रंग के साथ जगना आत्मा को फिर से जीवंत कर उठता है |
Trekking:- खिर्सू में यदि आपको ट्रैकिंग करनी है , तो फिर इस जगह पर ऊँचाई में एक पहाड़ी है जिसे फुरकंडा प्वाइंट कहते है । फुरकंडा प्वाइंट से खिर्सू , उंच्च चोटी और उसके आसपास के गांवों का विहंगम दृश्य दिखाई देता है ।
