On Islay’s famous Whisky Coast, in the fishing village of Port Ellen, overlooking the harbour and marina and just 2 hours by ferry from Kennacraig on the Scottish mainland, The Islay Hotel offers recently refurbished accommodation, a restaurant and well-stocked whisky bar. Guests can enjoy the unspoilt Scottish coastline and beaches, from 2 minutes' walk away.
Each bedroom is individually designed and has a king or super-king bed, and has luxury en suite facilities. They all have a flat-screen TV, free WiFi, and tea/coffee making facilities.
The restaurant serves fresh, local food. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30, lunch from 12:00 to 14:30 and dinner from 18:00 to 21:00. There is fresh coffee, tea and home baking available throughout the day.
Islay Airport is a 10-minute drive for The Islay Hotel. A links golf course is less than 10 minutes' drive away and guests can visit the distilleries of Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg, situated between 5 and 10 minutes' drive. There is free parking at the property.

The mist covered mountains performed by the massed Highlands pipes and drums during their displays in Nairn, where they had gathered to support Cantraybridge College in Croy, Inverness.
The bands were led by leading Drum Major Duncan Macdonald, with Drum Major John The Prof Matherson also present, and the bands performing were Inverness Royal British Legion pipe band, Nairn Pipe Band, Badenoch & Strathspey pipe band, Tain Pipe Band, Northern Constabulary Pipe Band, Strathpeffer and District Pipe band and the Queens Own Highlanders Association pipes and drums.

Following on from an earlier teaser here is the full video of a flight over beautiful Saligo Bay on the west of the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Filmed with a DJI Phantom 3 quadcopter we start with a few low level views, skimming low over the beach, dunes, rocks and waves. 2019 Highland Games Massed Bands Day Two Opening Ceremony Victoria BC
156th Annual Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival. Here are the opening ceremonies for Day 2 of the Games with massed pipe bands and drum bands, complete with Drum Majors. Apologies for the spectators that wouldn't shut up! The amount of talent there was awesome, including bands from around the world. Simon Fraser University, from Burnaby BC was there and is playing in this. They are the 2017 world pipe champions from 2017, and 5 years prior as well. Amazing to listen to them.
