Lerwick is the main port of the Shetland Islands, Scotland, located more than 100 miles off the north coast of mainland Scotland on the east coast of the Shetland Mainland. Lerwick is about 210 miles (340 km) north-northeast of Aberdeen, 230 miles (370 km) west of Bergen in Norway and 230 miles (370 km) south east of Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands.
Lerwick is a busy fishing and ferry port. The harbour also services vessels supporting the offshore oil industry. Significant buildings in Lerwick include Fort Charlotte, Lerwick Town Hall, the Böd of Gremista, Shetland Museum and Archives and Clickimin Broch.
Because of the historic nature of the area, some scenes from BBC's Shetland (TV series) were filmed in Lerwick. Lerwick is served by the Tingwall Airport located a few miles away and Sumburgh Airport that is further south and flies all year to some Scotland destinations.
Northlink Ferries operate a daily overnight ferry service between Lerwick and Aberdeen, regularly calling in to Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands. The Shetland Islands Council operate a ro-ro ferry service to Out Skerries and Bressay from a terminal in the centre of the town. Lerwick has three schools; Bell's Brae Primary School, Sound Primary School and Anderson High School.
Lerwick has strong ties with Scandinavian countries, particularly Norway (Lerwick has a friendship agreement with Måløy in Norway), and this is reflected in the street names of Lerwick (e.g. King Harald Street, King Haakon Street). Lerwick is the focus of most events in Shetland, including the largest of the annual Up Helly-Aa fire festivals which takes place on the last Tuesday of January every year.

First Time in SPAIN (Bilbao & La Coruña on a Cruise)
We have finally arrived in Spain!! After all these years we are ticking off this huge bucket list by exploring La Coruna and Bilbao on a cruise.
Check out the Princess Sapphire Cruise we are on:
Our first port of call in Spain was hopping off at the cute little town of La Coruna where the sleepy village was closed for the day - we went for a walk up to the Tower of Hercules - an ancient roman lighthouse still being used thousands of years later.
Next up we headed to Bilbao where we tried our first Spanish tortilla (Spanish omelette) before heading off to to see Dragonstone from Game of Thrones aka Gaztelugatxe - an islet in the Basque countryside.
We then headed into the town of Bilbao to try some Spanish tapas for heading back onto the ship for some more relaxation.

St Thomas Charlotte Amalie Cruise Port, Havensight & Scenic Drive (4K)
See what the St Thomas Cruise Port looks like at Havensight mall pier, Charlotte Amalie in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It takes about a 15 minute walk to the front of the Havensight mall to reach the taxi zone, where you can ride to:
* Magens Bay Beach (see our video of Magens Bay here: ) for $8,
* Downtown (drop-off at Fort Christian) for $4
* Airport for $6
* Bolongo Beach for $8
* Crown Bay Marina $6
* Mahogany Run Golf Course $8
* Morningstar Beach $6
* mountain top $8
* Red Hook ferry dock $10
* Sapphire Beach $10
* Secret Harbor Beach $10
We went to Magens Bay Beach, and the drive was quite scenic as you can see on De Beltjien Road & Mafolie Road, where we got views of the beautiful port area with 3 cruise ships docked (MSC Divina, Royal Princess and Regal Princess) . We also passed by Fort Christian, Franklin D. Roosevelt Park and saw a hurricane damaged area of the island.
We also included some scenic clips of our cruise ship sailing away from St Thomas, so hope you enjoy that as much as we did. This was part of our December 2017 Eastern Caribbean cruise on the MSC Divina. =======================
