Romanian Traditional Fair
Video made by Economic College Ion Ghica within Grundtvig project Learning to Learn by teaching
MOTIVATION:
In Romania traditions seem to be conserved in the countryside. In big cities, as well as in small ones, traditions are today just a pretext of the memory of grandparents or parents. This is why I thought to bring back to the fore, through some extracurricular activities, issues that are connected to what is specific to Romanians.
I proposed to myself that for my students, traditions to be not just a reason of surprise when, paradoxically, strangers come to present them to us, but to discover, understand and finally, of course, to promote them.
Since Christmas holidays have developed in Romania a variety of traditions and rituals, I proposed to my students to focus over these ones.
THE AIM OF THE ACTIVITY:
Students to learn not to ignore tradition, because paradoxically, in today's modern society, even in big cities, life's great moments, great feasts of the year relate to tradition. And to keep us away from kitsch, we must go directly to the source, in the non-industrialized centre of the village, where Romanians still preserve this treasury of folk customs (ritualistic).
Their quest becomes this way RESEARCH THEME: the students discover, learn, assimilate, and transmit.
