    St. Mary's Cathedral in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, is the seat of the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar. The cathedral is located in the Jalandhar Cantonment. The old church at the same site was dedicated to St. Patrick and was constructed by Rev. Fr. John Mc Donnel, O.F.M.CAP of the Vicariate Apostolic of Agra in 1847. Initially, the area was under the Diocese of Lahore. In 1952, after the partition, the Catholic Mission of the Indian state of Punjab was raised to the status of apostolic prefecture with its headquarters was located at Jalandhar and was handed over from the Belgian province of the Capuchin missionaries to the British province.
