WHERE TO EAT and WHAT TO DO in BOSTON
We spend two days exploring the city of Boston! We start out by making our way to the North End of the city and having lunch, and eventually head to a craft beer tap room. We then explore Beacon Hill and the Boston Common, finally making our way back to our hotel called Revere Hotel Boston Common. Our day ends with an awesome meal at Myers & Chang. The next day starts with a run through the Public Gardens and the Charles River Esplanade. We eventually finish off our time in the city with brunch at Little Donkey and a walk around Cambridge.

Boston’s North End:
The North End, Boston’s Little Italy, is a maze of narrow streets with some of the city’s oldest buildings. On the self-guided Freedom Trail, tourists pass historic sites like the 1680 Paul Revere House and the Old North Church, which played a key role at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Italian restaurants, coffeehouses, pastry shops and old-school delis pack the area, especially on lively Hanover Street.
Myers+Chang:
Myers+Chang is all about fresh product, exotic herbs, redolent spices. Alison Hearn served as opening executive chef to develop a menu that reflects Joanne and Christopher's personal interpretation of Chinese, Thai, and Vietamese specialties. Today that philosophy is carried on by Chef Karen Akunowicz, who works closely with Joanne and Christopher to offer creative and craveable dishes served by people passionate about great service and dedicated to having fun.
Boston Public Garden:
The Public Garden, also known as Boston Public Garden, is a large park in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, adjacent to Boston Common. It is a part of the Emerald Necklacesystem of parks, and is bounded by Charles Street and Boston Common to the east, Beacon Street to the north, Arlington Street and Back Bay to the west, and Boylston Streetto the south. The Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America.
Boston’s Charles River:
Along the Boston side of the Charles River, which separates the city from Cambridge, is a roughly three-mile leafy path known as the Esplanade. To take in its full charm, begin your walk near the Museum of Science (at Monsignor O'Brien Highway and Storrow Drive), which, not incidentally, is a great place to occupy kids for several hours. As you amble west toward the Boston University Bridge, you'll pass playgrounds and marshes and places to rent sail boats and buy lemonade (you are, remember, visiting in good weather). You'll also be swarmed by flocks of wild geese and packs of joggers. More often than not, the joggers will leave you alone, but beware of the geese — they are easily riled and nasty.
Little Donkey, Boston:
Located in the heart of Cambridge's Central Square, Little Donkey is the latest collaboration of James Beard Award-winning chefs Ken Oringer & Jamie Bissonnette.
The concept offers a global small plates menu driven by the chefs' travel & its diverse new neighborhood. Guests will find themselves sampling unique flavors from around the world- from Jersey to Japan - heavily influenced by availabilities in local markets.
Cambridge, MA:
Just across the Charles River from the city of Boston, Cambridge commands a cult following all its own. This scholastic city combines working-class perseverance with high-class entertainment and university class schedules. Mantua: the floating mill of Revere | Italia Slow Tour

These are my Top 9 Destinations for baby boomer retirees looking to take the kids and the grand kids
1) Alaska - land or by sea. Best to cruise because it is relaxing and get on one and off. If more adventurous the smaller cruise lines can take you up close an personal to more remote destinations. Great for young and old alike!
2) River cruising is great, but a number of river cruises do not allow guests under 18 years old. The best part about a river cruise is low turbulence on the ship vs open sea cruises; most cruises include food, all drinks, excursions and other activities in one price. There is a destination stop daily and usually most of the day. The ship tops in the center of town and often includes an excursion. If you do not want to participate in the excursion, the cruise line often has bikes to use or walking tour maps for guests. The Rhine and Danube are the most popular river cruises.
3) Caribbean- a major destination for all ages. For a quieter time in the Caribbean is May or September but may not be best if traveling with the grandkids as they will be ending or starting school during this time. Great destination whether by cruise line or land. By cruise ship there are activities for the kids which are age appropriate, baby sitting for the kids is available for parents and grand parents to have night time activity like dinner or a show.
4) Hawaii - this is a great destination year around with activities for all ages. This destination can be a bit more expensive traveling to Maui or Kuai. Honolulu on Ohau and Hilo on the island of Hawaii can offer moderately priced accommodations with condos including kitchens. Cooking can be done at the condo vs eating out for every meal. This is a great place for cross generational travel as well with a number of cultural activities for all ages, nice night light for adults and relaxing activities for mature travelers.
5) Willaimsburg, VA is a great lower cost vacation with activities for all ages. This town, the residents dress in colonial attire are the time and offer reenactments for visitors. Fun time for all ages and kids love it. Great destination for the summer. There are low cost transportation alternatives for seniors with trains and such which offer senior discounts.
6) Bangkok, Thailand - This destination the residents respect and revere older people. The accommodations are less expensive than in Europe and the US. This destination is even great for solo women travelers.
7) Tulum, Mexico - Part of the Riviera Maya, Play Del Carmen area of the Yucatan peninsula. This destination is accessed via Cancun. This destination offers all inclusive resorts which are fantastic for family travel. The are activities for all ages with golf a major activity in this area. Of course there are the famous Mayan ruins near by as well.
8) South Africa - This is a bucket list destination for many. Great place for multi generational travelers. This destination includes safari attractions that are low impact as most activity takes place on the vehicles in game preserves to view large animals. This destination can also be affordable for the budget conscious with activities and adventure for all ages.
9) Vietnam/Cambodia - another off the beaten path destination with historical and cultural activities abound. This is a fantastic destination for multi generational travelers which offers modest pricing for accommodations that aren't as costly as US or European destinations.

The Lantern of Genoa | Italia Slow Tour
The Lantern is a symbol of Genoa, one of the most significant places in the city. It was the terminal of a ring of walls, the tip of a promontory on the sea that goes as far as the mountain. Visit also the Lantern Museum: the lighthouse is from the Middle Ages, over the centuries it has been changed several times, until the 19th century. LEXINGTON and CONCORD Tour & Leaving Boston l CRUISE VLOG l Ep. 33
It's now time for us to take our shore excursion through Norwegian Cruise Line. Most other cruise lines offer this tour as well as local tour operators. The shore excursion is called, Lexington and Concord and here is the tour description from NCL's website:
