桜並木と菜の花が美しい春の風景 茨城県土浦市の桜名所である桜川堤では、秋に日本三大花火の一つである土浦全国花火競技大会が行われます。この桜川では春になると一斉に美しい桜が咲き揃い、桜川を挟んだ両岸では美しい桜並木のトンネルが続きます。

Sakuragawa River is a place to hold the Tsuchiura All Japan National Fireworks Competition in the autumn season, and about 700,000 people gather from all over Japan.
In spring it is famous as a cherry blossom viewing place where you can see Canola blossoms and cherry blossoms.

The Beauty Of Sakura Series #1
Every year the cherry blossoms ( Sakura ) come and go - they last only about 14 days a year. This year I decided to make the effort and travel to a few different spots and film them. My plan is to film 6 different locations.
The Japanese do Hanami every year, which translated means...
Hana - Flower
Mi - look/see/view
They go to the parks, spread out plastic sheets and have little picnics under the trees... usually involving lots of alcohol. It's a yearly tradition that almost everyone indulges in. Even workmates gather together and get hammered under the pink umbrella of blossoms above. Great fun. At night the local councils place lights at the base of the tree shining upwards, so you can sit under the trees and enjoy the pink flowers even in the dark.
As I won't live in Japan for much longer, I have decided to film what I can before I go...so heres another Japan related series... for myself mostly.

日本の春の絶景、福島県福島市の花見山公園は、切花出荷用の東海桜や桃、ソメイヨシノ、レンギョウ、ボケ、サンシュユ、モクレン、ツバキなどが地区一帯に咲き誇る花の名所として知られ、写真家の秋山庄太郎氏が「福島に桃源郷あり」と形容し、毎年訪れていたそうです。東北地方で発生した東日本大震災による東京電力福島第一原子力発電所の事故により、一時は放射能に汚染されたホットスポットとなっていましたが、「花見山を守る会」が観光客を被爆から守ろうと除染作業を続け、美しい花々が咲く花見山の風景を守りました。
