San Dorligo della Valle is a comune in the Province of Trieste in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 4 kilometres southeast of Trieste, on the border with Slovenia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,019 and an area of 24.5 square kilometres . According to the 1971 census, 70.5% of the population are ethnic Slovenes, while the rest are mostly Italians.

    Duino is a seaside resort on the northern Adriatic coast. It is a frazione of Duino-Aurisina, a municipality of the Province of Trieste in the Friuli–Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. The settlement, picturesquely situated on the steep Karst cliffs of the Gulf of Trieste, is known for Duino Castle, perpetuated by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke in his Duino Elegies.
