In Patagonia, there are plenty of unique and delicious things to eat. As in all of Argentina, beef is important, but particular to the area is the cordero, lamb, which is of a very unique flavor (supposedly because the Patagonian lamb eats a unique mixture of herbs found only in Patagonia) especially when grilled in the typical parrilla (grill).
Dulce de leche, similar to caramel and made by adding sugar to milk and cooking it, is used on nearly all desserts, including facturas (pastries eaten for breakfast or tea, or to accompany mate, filled with dulce de leche, dulce de membrillo, crema pastelera, roquefort, or many other things), alfajores (traditional cookies that consist of tiny biscuits stuck together), and many other Argentine desserts.

Comiendo una Rica Parrilla en Buenos Aires, Argentina
Para nuestro tercer día en Buenos Aires, decidimos ir a comer parrilla argentina!
Comenzamos el día con un desayuno en Norte (Talcahuano 953), donde comimos unas ricas facturas y medialunas con café con leche. De ahí, nos subimos a un taxi y fuimos a pasear por Puerto Madero para visitar la ARA Presidente Sarmiento, una fragata que fue buque escuela y que ahora es un museo. Recorrimos la fragata que data del año 1897 y que hasta 1939 realizó 37 viajes de instrucción por diversas partes del mundo.
Después de pasear por Puerto Madero, fuimos a almorzar a la parrilla Niña Bonita (1715 Avenida Corrientes). Comimos vacio, bife de lomo, bife de chorizo, chorizo, papas fritas y una ensalada completa. La comida estuvo excelente!
Esa tarde, nos hicimos una siestita, y luego salimos a comer unos helados en Freddo y pasear por la Feria de Recoleta que ocurre todos los sábados por la tarde.

Steak is an important part of the Argentine culture as the country is famous for its good beef. A visit to a Parilla is one of the MUST DO's when you are visiting the country. Especially in Buenos Aires you can find many good places to enjoy some good Bife de Chorizo or Lomo.
This is why we were searching for a place where the food is delicious but not too pricey. Before we filmed this episode we tried out several restaurants and steak houses (Parillas) in the capital of Argentina. At the end we went to my favorite place in Palermo and to Sam & Audres's favorite spot in Recoleta.

The Argentinean capital city of Buenos Aires is one of Latin America's top tourist destinations so I just had to include it in my 7 weeks in Latin America travel project. I spent half a week here after my Patagonian leg of my project and the Brazilian stop-over, mainly to take in the famed museums, culture, art and history of this city. And I did have some delicious Argentinean meat and wine too.
Look closely, because Buenos Aires is beautiful. Sure, it might look like a concrete jungle from certain angles, but stroll through the streets, pay attention to the magnificent architecture around you, and you'll soon be won over. Grand French- and Italian-style palaces grab the limelight, but you'll see interesting architectural details in the buildings of even low-key, local barrios. These days the beauty of these traditional neighborhoods is further enhanced by colorful murals painted by artists involved in the city's vibrant street-art scene. For these talented individuals, Buenos Aires is their canvas.
