France Youth Hostel - Les auberges de jeunesse en France
Plus de vidéo / More video :
Here is the video of the hostels visited in France. You will find the cities of Perpignan, Lyon and Chamonix. Three completely different cities: the beach, the city and the mountains.
The hostel in Perpignan is near the old town, which is very small, but still interesting to visit. Perpignan is an ancient fortress; the houses that one finds there are tall and narrow, often colored orange, pink or red. Walking through its streets is worth seeing. You have to take the bus to reach the beach, but it's very nice.
Lyon hostel is in the old town. The area called St-Jean is now classified World Heritage by UNESCO. It's perfect to discover this beautiful neighborhood filled of Bouchon Lyonnais. These succulent restaurants are known around the world for their gastronomy. The rest of town is also worth a visit. Among other communities, the area of Croix-Rousse and the La tête d'Or Park are
also enjoyable. I have stayed in a hostel in the high mountains Pilgrims village of Chamonix. Just 20 minutes by bus from the city center and the bus ticket is included in the price of the accommodation. If you like skiing or snowboarding, you'll be in heaven. Even in the summer when it is not the ski season, it is a wonderful place to explore. You can climb the Aiguille du Midi by using 2 cable railways and 1 elevator rising to 3842 meters. Other interesting attractions of the city are the Montenvers train to visit the inside of a glacier and the Brevent cable car to admire Mont Blanc on the other side of the valley.
During my stay in France, I also visited Montpellier and Vaucluse, but it was staying with my friend's family and at my godfather's villa in Saumane.
