surfEXPLORE - Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation
surfEXPLORE have announced a new partnership with non-profit organisation Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation (ASC) to provide valuable field data and support scientific projects during their explorations to find and surf new waves.
surfEXPLORE is a collective of surfers, photographers and writers who travel to the world's most remote locations in search of new and unridden waves. Their explorations are published around the world, encouraging surfers to travel to new locations and improve cultural tourism frontiers whilst supporting and reporting on local and environmental issues.
Whilst the team has always had a strong focus on sustainability and giving back to the community, this latest partnership with Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation will enable them to provide valuable information and data samples from the field to assist with scientific research on major environmental issues such as microplastic contamination in the sea and shark and whale conservation studies.
Erwan Simon, founding member of surfEXPLORE commented: we are stoked to work with ASC, it's a great opportunity for us to have a clear and tangible positive impact on the areas we are exploring. We are enthusiastic to enter this program in order to collect data from around the world that will better inform conservation management.
About surfEXPLORE
surfEXPLORE is a collaboration between world renowned editor and surf photographer, John Seaton Callahan and professional surfers, writers and explorers Emiliano Cataldi, Erwan Simon and Sam Bleakley. Over the past 10 years they have travelled to, researched, reported on and photographed over 40 new surf locations whilst working with the local community and NGO's to support environmental issues.
About Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation :
Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation is committed to bringing the adventure and science communities together. ASC was founded in January of 2011 with the understanding that many people travelling in the outdoors genuinely want to do more for the places they visit but often struggle with how to help. ASC exists to bridge this gap by pairing adventure athletes already travelling to some of the earth's most difficult to reach places with the scientists who need information from these areas. ASC also has the goal of creating unique and innovative learning experiences about science while also saving the scientific and conservation communities millions of dollars in data collection costs.

Walk the John Muir Way 3: Explore Like Muir - Discover, Explore, Share, Conserve
Looking for a great walk for kids and a challenge for the whole family? The John Muir way is a 134 mile long distance walk across the heart of Scotland. It calls through plenty of interesting urban and rural locations. You can do the whole lot in a week or so, or tackle a few miles in a day. And the learning is built in; John Muir was an explorer, conservationist and pioneer and you can follow his teachings and principles as you go. We walked a section from Dunbar to North Berwick near Edinburgh.
Follow our story and learn about John Muir, the man, the Way and his award in these three videos, produced in a paid collaboration with Premier Inn to promote their hotels as a great place to stay and to start adventures like these.
In this short film, we climb North Berwick Law at the end of our days walk and reflect on the principles of the John Muir award and how applying them while you walk can enhance your experienc and learning.
