Skjolden is a village in the municipality of Luster in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located at the end of the Lustrafjorden, a branch of the Sognefjorden. Skjolden is located at the innermost point of the Sognefjorden, Norway's longest fjord, and the length of the Sognefjorden is measured from Skjolden to the island of Ytre Sula where the fjord meets the ocean—over 200 km. The valleys of Mørkridsdal and Fortunsdal meet at Skjolden, just west of the Hurrungane mountains. Norway Cruise - Skjolden

August 2, 2018 - Today we stopped at the peaceful village of Skjolden, the innermost point of Norway's longest fjord. Early in the morning I went on an excursion to Urnes Stave Church before spending the afternoon walking around this place.

Asafossen Waterfall in Skjolden, Norway - Hike and climb 2018

We took a short hike to the Asafossen Waterfall in Skjolden, Norway. The climb up the mountain side next to the waterfall was fairly easy, offering great views at the top.

I don't see much for this waterfall on YouTube, maybe it has other names but the sign clearly said Asafossen Waterfall.

There are a number of bigger and more popular waterfalls in Norway, but I really enjoyed this one. A lot less tourists about and was nice to climb up next to it and really take it in.
