Slagelse is a small town in Denmark located in west Zealand. It is about 100 km southwest of Copenhagen. The population is 32,333 .In the 11th century, Slagelse had a mint and was an important trading centre. The city has an 11th-century church, and nearby is Trelleborg, a Viking fortress. Hans Christian Andersen studied in the grammar school in this city for a few years but described it as a nuisance. Slagelse is twinned with Aberdare, Wales and Stargard Szczeciński, Poland.

1. Viking Ship Museum Roskilde
The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde is Denmark's national museum for ships, seafaring and boatbuilding in the prehistoric and medieval period. The main focus of the museum is a permanent exhibition of five original Viking ships excavated nearby in 1962. The Viking Ship Museum also conducts research and educates researchers in the fields of maritime history, marine archaeology and experimental archaeology. Various academic conferences are held here and there is a research library in association with the museum.

Moesgaard Museum is a Danish regional museum dedicated to archaeology and ethnography. It is located in Højbjerg, a suburb of Aarhus, Denmark. MOMU cooperates with the Institute of Prehistoric Archaeology, Medieval and Renaissance Archaeology and Anthropology at Aarhus University. The main part of the museum’s archaeological collection is of Danish origin. In addition, the Ethnographical Collections contain almost 50,000 artefacts from all over the world. They are used both for research and exhibitions. The collection also contains photographic material, films and sound recordings. Trelleborg is believed to have been ordered by King Harald Bluetooth in the year 980 AD and it might have commanded the Great Belt and its sea traffic, between the islands of Sjælland (Zealand) and Fyn ( Funen).
