The Spittal of Glenshee lies at the head of Glenshee in the highlands of eastern Perth and Kinross, Scotland where the confluence of many small streams flowing south out of the Grampians form the Shee Water. For centuries, there has been a hostel or inn at the site and, in modern times, the small village has become a centre for travel, tourism and winter sports in the region, sited at a bend on the A93 trunk road which leads from Blairgowrie north past the Spittal to the Glenshee Ski Centre and on to Braemar. 1. Blair Castle and Hercules Gardens Blair Atholl
Blair Atholl is a village in Perthshire, Scotland, built about the confluence of the Rivers Tilt and Garry in one of the few areas of flat land in the midst of the Grampian Mountains. The Gaelic place-name Blair, from blàr, 'field, plain', refers to this location. Atholl, which mean 'new Ireland', from the archaic Ath Fhodla is the name of the surrounding district. On 13 March 2008, it was announced that Blair Atholl would be included in the Cairngorms National Park. This change was made at the request of the people of the town. The town is bypassed by the A9 and has a railway station on the Highland Main Line. The main road north from Perth to Inverness ran through the village until it was bypassed in 1984.

The Highland Folk Museum is a museum and open-air visitor attraction in Newtonmore in Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. It is owned by Highland Council and administered by High Life Highland. It was founded by Dr. Isabel Frances Grant in 1935.

First trip to Scotland

I've always wanted to visit Scotland and finally had the opportunity to get there on vacation for 10 days (actually the first time I stayed for more than 7days on vacation since 15 years)

This is just a short insight to all the places we have been. (I took random clips out of 500 (!) clips I shot)

We started in Edinburgh, went up to Spittal of Glenshee, Huntly (4days), visited some nice villages near the coasts and went for another 4 days to the Isle of Skye and then back to Edinburgh.

I never thought that we'll enjoy Scotland that much. Thanks to all the lovely people we met! We will definetly visit this awesome country again some time

The first snowfall of 2018 along the A93, from the Spittal of Glenshee over the Cairngorms to Glenshee Ski Centre. Filmed after the snow gates were opened in the morning of Saturday 27th October 2018.
The Snow Roads is a 90-mile route through the Scottish highlands, from the market town of Blairgowrie in Perthshire to the Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey in Aberdeenshire. This film shows the route along the A93 from the Spittal of Glenshee into the Grampian mountains to Glenshee Ski Centre by the Cairnwell pass, where it becomes the highest public road in the UK. This route experiences heavy snowfall in winter and snow gates are used to shut the road.

The arctic blast hitting Scotland in late April 2017 created blizzards and heavy snowfall around the Scottish highlands, especially Braemar sitting high up in the Cairngorms by Glenshee ski centre. Filmed on the morning of Tuesday 25th April 2017 at both locations.
