In this episode of DBH Unplugged, David brings us into the town of Chichicastenango after a bumpy ride in on the local 'chicken bus'. Known for their large covered markets, David takes us on a colorful tour through the vendors selling clothes, backpacks, art, fruit, veggies, textiles and more, with a few tips on haggling with the local sellers. Take a walk through the town's history alongside the murals painted on the market walls, or simply wander the lanes of endless shopping for a great local experience. If you feel the pangs if hunger, stop at the local Atole vendor, where you can try some of the traditional hot corn beverage that will definitely hold you over until your next meal. Visit this 16th Century market any day of the week, or visit Thursday and Sunday to check out its nylon market.

Caribbean Coast - Primitive junglelife in Rio dulce Guatemala
Heey guys!
Here 's the video from Rio Dulce at Guatemalas caribbean coast, , our drive through Honduras, and a couple days in Léon in Nicaragua!
Rio Dulce is close to the Afro-Caribbean town Livingston and its pretty different from the rest of Guatemala.
Because Rio Dulce is a national park and it's hidden in a massive jungle, there's no electricity around, most places are driven by solar power, so there was no wifi connection.
For us that was a bit of a problem because we needed to plan our next move, and we like streaming movies :)
But if you like being in the jungle, cut off from the world, just chilling in a hammock, taking a swim or kajaking then this is the place for u!
Make sure you have a book though!
Also the hotel only served vegetarian food (which they didn't state when we booked) and you couldn`t bring your own because it would attract insects, understandably!
The only way to get around is by boat which is very expensive.
We took one into Livingston for a couple of hours, it took about 30 min and cost about 10 $ PP.
Not so fun when you're on a budget, and Livingston wasn't much to see at all. At least that's our opinion :)
Okey, enough said, Hope you enjoy the video!
Take care!

Santa Cruz del Quiché - PICSPORADIC PLACES - Guatemala
Short video from my trip to Quiche this past week - even on a Monday the markets were bustling and full off activity!
Originally founded in the fifteenth century as the K’iche’ capital of K’umarcaaj Santa Cruz del Quiché was one of the first major cities and department heads of Guatemala. The city lies in the southwestern Chuacús Mountains at an elevation of 6,631 feet (2,021m). The town also functions as a market center for the Indian villages in the vicinity.

INDIAN NOSE HIKE - best view of Lake Atitlan
Hike to the peak with the best view of Lake Atitlan, plus see seven volcanos. We have two hiking options, one is challenging and the other is easy. Enjoy sunrise if you are an early bird!! Each hiking option includes a visit to nearby Santa Clara. Book on Saturday for market day. Side trip can include a visit to the Sacred Bone Cave, a real Indiana Jones experience.
