TRIP TO VALLE DE GUADALUPE - MEXICO'S WINE REGION - Travel Vlog
Welcome to Valle De Guadalupe! This is Mexico's premiere wine region with over 100 wineries. It is known for its low key atmosphere, offering more authentic wine tasting experience and farm to table restaurants. Vamonos!
We travel two hours from San Diego by car with our tour guide Mario from Baja Winery Tours. After taking the scenic route, we arrive at Santo Tomas, one of the largest wineries in the region. We take a tour of the winery where the winemaker explains the region and the micro-climates that make the various types of wine.
Next, we visit Lomita which is a boutique winery where we get a glimpse into the wine making process. We watch as the workers sort the grapes to make red wine.
Now time for food. We go to Javier Plascencia's farm to table restaurant called Finca Altonzano, one of the best restaurants in the region. Javier is a Tijuana native credited for helping to start the culinary scene here in Baja California. His restaurant is truly memorable and known for unique and fresh ingredients.

In this vlog, we take a road trip the the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's wine region. We visit one of the top rated Baja restaurants, Sabina, an Anthony Bourdain favorite known for the famous seafood tostadas and ceviche. They started as a street cart, which Bourdain called it the best street cart in the world and it it now a restaurant.
Next, we visit Monte Xanic, a winery known for putting the Mexico wine region on the map. Their wines have been served at political state dinners and they have an exquisite property over looking the Valle. The property is designed with a unique facade made of ropes, and the building is situated into the rocky landscape.
Next, we visit a small funky, boutique winery called Vena Cava, known for their unique architecture and natural wines. The small tasting room is made from recycled boats from Ensenada.
We also visit Corazon de Tierra, named one of the top 50 restaurants in Latin America in 2017. The restaurant offers farm to table cuisine.

Welcome to Valle de Guadalupe!
Mexico’s Wine Country!
We took a weekend trip down to Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe with our travel friend, Reis Armstrong, for his birthday. This was his first time in Mexico and we decided to show him our home away from home! We stopped at 3 wineries, the oldest wineries in Mexico which is Santo Tomas, then Vena Cava (the upside down boat) and then Encuentro Guadalupe, which has won Architecture Awards.

ENSENADA, MEXICO | Best Things To Do in this Baja California Gem
We absolutely LOVE Ensenada, Mexico...there's no denying it. On our latest trip, we spent the day exploring all the amazing things to do in this Baja California gem. And while we did some pretty great things, our favorite thing by far was our morning visit to the beautiful Tara Garden. It was so peaceful and serene, and the 20 foot statue was so colorful and amazing to look at.
Here's the full list of everything we did in Ensenada:
-Visit the Tara Garden
-Brunch at Hacienda San Angel
-Explore the Rivera of Ensenada
-Take a stroll along the riverwalk
- Visit a fish market
- Margaritas at Hussong's Cantina, the birthplace of the margarita!
You can see the full list of all the amazing things that we did on our blog:
