Jalaram Bapa popularly known as Bapa was a Hindu saint from Gujarat, India. He was born on 14 November 1799, one week after the Hindu festival of Diwali, which is associated with his Iṣṭa-devatā Lord Rama.

Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha , is a Hindu religious and social organization within the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism. BAPS was established on 5 June 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj after leaving the Vadtal Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It was formed on the founder's interpretation that Swaminarayan was to remain present on earth through a lineage of Gunatit Gurus or Akshar dating all the way back to Gunatitanand Swami - one of Swaminarayan's prominent devotees. Gunatitanand Swami was succeeded by Bhagatji Maharaj, Shastriji Maharaj, Yogiji Maharaj, Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj. The Naulakha Palace, the oldest extant palace in Gondal, India, dating back to the 18th century , with a sculpted facade is a part of the Darbargardh fort complex. It is named Navalakaha meaning rupees nine lakhs which was the cost of building it at that time. It has stone carvings with jharokhas , a pillared courtyard, delicately carved arches, and a unique spiral staircase. The large chandelier-lit durbar hall witnesses stuffed panthers, gilt wooden furniture, and antique mirrors. The private palace museum displays an array of silver caskets which were in the services of carrying messages and gifts for the Maharajah Bhagwat Sinhji on his silver jubilee as ruler of Gondal.

Khodal dham is one of the best temples, the only temple where Indian flag is hoisted. Shakti Van at Khodal Dham is a place where nature is at it's best. It is a man made forest. The Jalaram Mandir at Chotila (Gujarat)

On the way to Jamnagar from Ahmedabad I came across this magnificent Jalaram Mandir at Chotila.
I took some snaps on my cell phone and complied a slide show of 4 minute duration.
Unlike other Jalaram Mandirs this seems opulent much unlike other Jalaram Mandirs which are simple.
Guess even Jalaram Bapa has to change with the times...:-)
The lip smacking Maha Prasad, however continues to be free as in all
other such Mandirs all over the world..
