Xenia is a city in and the county seat of Greene County, Ohio, United States. The municipality is located in southwestern Ohio 15 miles from Dayton and is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, as well as the Miami Valley region. The name comes from the Greek word Xenia , which means hospitality. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 25,719. Xenia is the third largest city by population in Greene County, behind Fairborn and Beavercreek. Best Ohio Hideouts - A Winter B&B Getaway

When it comes to winter getaways in Ohio, you simply cannot beat hunkering down in a cozy Bed & Breakfast like the Silver Fern B&B in Peninsula, Ohio. Located right in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, you can walk or bike the Towpath Trail, snuggle up with a book by the fireplace, or curl up with some snacks from the innkeeper and just watch the snow fall outside.

Cycling Ohio to Erie Trail (4) - West Jefferson to Xenia 2011

A ride I did in 2011 that I wanted to share. Most of it is very boring as its on an old railroad line which are very straight and flat. The towns you pass through are some very special places to stop and explore. Take your time as this can be an all day trip. Its starts in West Jefferson and ends in Xenia and in my case back again.

First White House Confederacy

This historic site, home of Jefferson Davis, Confederate President, and his family, served as the first White House of the Confederacy from February 1861 until May 29, 1861. The house now sits across the street from the present day state capitol, the historic location of his inauguration on February 18, 1861.
