Bellefontaine Cemetery in St Louis Missouri was founded in 1849 as a rural cemetery, it's a huge cemetery sitting on 314 acres of land and over 87,000 graves including those of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition Adolfus Busch, Thomas Hart Benton, and William S. Burroughs and many Union and Confederate soldiers from the American Civil War are buried at Bellefontaine, as well as numerous local and state politicians.

One of the most beautiful & haunting cemeteries in America
Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia is perhaps one of the most famous cemeteries in the United States. With its ancient oak trees covered in Spanish moss, the 150+ acre landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bonaventure Cemetery was featured in the popular 1994 John Berendt novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and is often toured by history buffs and ghost hunters.

Historic 1800s Evergreen Cemetery Coffins Visible
Evergreen Cemetery is located in Bartow FL. It is a historically African American cemetery dating back to the 1800s. For many years it was left in a state of disrepair till the city took it over a few years ago. But many of the tombstones are broken and knocked over, crypts are cracked and have holes in it. Some are big enough you can see the coffins inside.

On our journey to trace the trail, we encountered an unexpected piece of history on a headstone that revealed yet another lost cemetery... and in our historic research, yet another! Could these old cemeteries have something to do with the hauntings of the town? Plus... we made a side trip to the woods of haunted Zombie Road on the way home!
