1958, Brussels, Belgium - Expo '58
Expo 58 was held in Brussels, Belgium from April 17 to October 19. It was the first major World's Fair after World War II.
Nearly 15,000 workers spent three years building the (490 acres) site on the Heysel plateau, 7 kilometres northwest of central Brussels, Belgium.
Every 25 years starting in 1855, Belgium had staged large national events to celebrate its national independence following the Belgian Revolution of 1830. However, the Belgian government under prime minister Achille Van Acker decided to forego celebrations in 1955 to have additional funding for the 1958 Expo.[3]
Expo 58 was the 11th World's Fair hosted by Belgium, and the fifth in Brussels, following the fairs in 1888, 1897, 1910 and 1935. Since Expo 58, Belgium has not arranged any more world fairs.

Crowds of people in the Belgian capital of Brussels watched a fireworks display celebrating the start of 2018 in front of the city's landmark Atomium building.
The countdown was illuminated on the Brussels Expo building opposite, as well as messages wishing the crowd a happy New Year in various languages.

EN// Parc du Cinquantenaire or Jubelpark is a large public, urban park in the easternmost part of the European Quarter in Brussels. Most buildings of the U-shaped complex which dominate the park were commissioned by the Belgian government under the patronage of King Leopold II for the 1880 National Exhibition commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Belgian independence.

The Atomium of Brussels (inside)
The Atomium is a building in Brussels originally constructed for Expo 58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn and architects André and Jean Polak, it stands 102 m (335 ft) tall. Its nine 18 m (59 ft) diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. It is a museum.
Het Atomium is een monument in het Heizelpark in Brussel. Het is een stalen constructie die bestaat uit negen bollen met elk een diameter van 18 meter. De bollen vormen samen het kubisch ruimtelijk gecentreerde kristalstructuur van ijzer, 165 miljard maal vergroot. Het gebouw werd ontworpen door ingenieur André Waterkeyn en is sinds de restauratie bekleed met roestvrij staal. Vijf van de negen bollen zijn toegankelijk voor het publiek.

Voila encore une journée de perdu, on s'est présenté à Talentum pour une recherche d'emploi, mais à plusieurs entretiens pour dire non de façon polie, ils exigent le néerlandais que plusieurs postulants n'ont aucune connaissance de cette langue.
Cette idée qu'il faut obligatoirement être bilingue Fr-Nl pour bosser à Bruxelles est une exagération totale , même s'il est évident que c'est un avantage certain mais pas indispensable.
Ils mettent toujours un bâton dans les roues pour ne pas nous engager nous les immigrants de Bruxelles.
