Instagrammers, photographers and nature lovers, take out your cameras and walk around the city, to discover this season’s hidden treasures and surprises!
If you are looking for some ideas or inspiration, Bois de la Cambre is one of the few spots you should definitively not miss!
Bois de la Cambre (French) or Ter Kamerenbos (Dutch) is an urban public park on the edge of the Sonian Forest in Brussels, Belgium. The park lies in the south of the Brussels-Capital Region, and in the municipality of the City of Brussels and covers an area of 1.23 square kilometres (0.47 square miles). It is linked to the rest of the municipality by Avenue Louise/Louizalaan, which was built in 1861, at the same time the park was laid out.
The park comprises a small lake with an island in the centre, called Robinson's Island. Its water is polluted with cyanobacteria and signs are posted at regular intervals, warning of a risk of botulism.

Balloons Day Parade: A unique parade in Europe
The Balloons’ Day Parade, taking place during the Comic Strip Festival, will run for the 17th consecutive year across the major Brussels streets on September 15, 2019. Composed of famous characters of Belgian comic strip and rhythmed by Belgian fanfares, the Balloons’ Day Parade will have the pleasure to make discover to young and old its gargantuesque balloons.
Sunday, September 15, during 1 hour and 30 minutes, a parade of giant balloons in the form of comic characters, will cross the city center of the capital. The aim of the Balloons’ Day Parade and the Comic Strip Festival is to immerse fans and enthusiasts in the fantastic world of Belgian comics.
This year it is not one but two new balloons that will integrate the parade, Toto, the most famous kid for classic jokes of French culture and Dooly the Little Dinosaur. It is also with pleasure that the penguins of Madagascar will make their comeback for this 2019 edition.
The impressive inflating balloon show will start around 10:00 am on the Place des Palais where more than 200 volunteers will be needed to give life to these giants. Most of the balloons will cross the Atlantic to participate at this event. From 15:00, Billy, Spirou, Tintin, The Cat and their new friends will walk in the city center to finally return to the Place des Palais around 16:30.
This year, the parade will welcome new fanfares from all over Belgium, the fanfares are placed between the balloons to give a rhythm and animate the parade.
The comic strip lovers will also find satisfaction in the Royal Park in the Comic Strip Village where new and used comic books will be put on sale by publishers and booksellers. More than hundred authors will give signing sessions and there are many other surprises and animations during three days.

Amsterdam - Brussels - Bike Trip 2018
2nd part of the bike trip after travelling up from Brussels to Amsterdam! See where the adventure took us!
Cycling in Brussels Belgium
Belgium and the Netherlands share a border, a language and a history. Yet in cycling they could not be further apart. Cycling in Brussels from a Dutch perspective seems to be a dangerous activity almost only taken up by young male adults. Most streets in the center seem not very well designed for bicycles. Although there are some stretches of cycle lanes that are wide enough, there is a system of rental bikes that you can get and leave at a lot of places, and cyclists may enter streets that cars may not, the city as a whole comes across as a hostile environment for people on a bike.

Breakfast In Brussels #sprouttobebrussels
A couple of years ago we recorded our tribute to surreal Brussels, with its freakish and jagged skyline, where an untameable rich cultural diversity gets entangled with equally untameable monetary and political forces. A curious beast, a beautiful mistress, a little peeing cherubim, Brussels keeps inspiring us.
