DIABLO DROP OFF and SANDSTONE CANYON Off-Road | FZJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser
In this trip we explored the Anza Borrego Desert Area. We started in Blair Valley near Julian, CA and made our way up north through the desert until we hit the Diablo Drop Off. It was a tough decision if we should go down the left (and more easy) path but in the end we decided to take the more challenging route to the right. And let me tell you, depending on the condition of the trail, be prepared for some fun off-road adventure even though it will only last a few seconds! With a heavy car like our Toyota Land Cruiser, there was basically no way to stop the white elephant once it reached the tipping point at the beginning of the drop off. Releasing the break (even though this is the last thing you want to do in such a moment) was essential to maintain control during the way down.
After the Diablo Drop Off we continued our way through Sandstone Canyon which not only offers spectacular scenery but also some challenging off-road obstacles. One of them is the Sandstone Canyon Gate Keeper which might not look that intimidating at first but driving a wide car as the Land Cruiser through it can be quite an interesting task.
After a fun night camping, we left this area through Fish Creek Wash and continued our trip towards Salton Sea.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics S2 Modular Performance System Barstow, CA High-Speed Test
When we develop a new product for your vehicle, we make sure that it can stand up to some serious abuse first. While developing the ALL NEW S2 Modular Performance System we thought it necessary to take a few high-speed runs down fairly rough trail in Barstow, CA to give us a better idea of how this system is going to function, and more importantly, how it is going to stand up to some hard offroad use. Check out the video to see just how stable this Toyota 4Runner was at speeds ranging from 35-65mph over some rough terrain, yet still remaining comfortable enough to be a great-handling daily driver. Check out our Facebook page and our website for more information and a final release date on the S2 Modular Performance System from ICON Vehicle Dynamics.

EarthRoamer XVJP on the Rubicon Trail
The EarthRoamer XV-JP, a revolutionary new sel fcontained,go-anywhere camper designed and built by EarthRoamer,
has successfully completed the Rubicon Trail. One of the most difficult and definitely the most well known 4x4 trail in the United
States, the Rubicon Trail in the California High Sierras is a proving ground like no other.Twenty two miles of extreme terrain including rocky climbs with massive boulders, narrow passages, steep inclines and an occasional mud-hole crossing the Rubicon is
truly a journey past the point of no return, demanding everything a vehicle and driver has to offer.
Driven by Scott Brady and spotted by Chris Marzonie, The Jeep Rubicon Unlimited based EarthRoamer XV-JP did not disappoint on its namesake trail. With its aggressive 33 mud terrain tires, ultra low 5.13 gearing, locking differentials and stout skid plates, the EarthRoamer XV-JP camper has gone where no camper has gone before. EarthRoamers co-founder and Chief Designer Bill Swails was happy to report that the queen size bed in the electronically expandable Loftop™, the large on-board refrigerator powered by a built-in 80 watt solar panel, and sanitary facilities including toilet, sink and shower with hot and cold running water worked great too. It was a fantastic experience said Swails, the XV-JP worked exactly as we designed it, safely traversing one of the most difficult off-highway trails in the country, if not the world. This is the first time a self-contained, fully enclosed production camper has conquered the Rubicon.
Initial testing, which has taken the XV-JP proto-type from its home base in the mountains of Colorado through the jungles of Central America, the deserts of Moab Utah, and now he Rubicon trail is complete and production has begun.

Land Cruiser FZJ80 Hill Climb | Off-Road Adventure on Our Way to Death Valley
This video was shot half way on our trip to Death Valley California. We explored a little side trail of the Highway 395 near Johannesburg and the Grass Valley Wilderness Area. It's not a very challenging trail and 2 WD would be fine most of the time but there are some fun spots here and there.

[Canyonlands Expedition - 5/5] White Rim Trail, Moab, & Cathedral Valley/CRNP [4K]
We continue the fourth day of our journey into the heart of Southern Utah, checking out:
- Horsethief Canyon/Mineral Canyon 0:05
- Mineral Bottom Canyon/Green River 0:35
- Arches National Park 1:33
- Salt Valley Road (Arches NP) 2:06
- San Rafael Swell/Black Dragon Canyon & Reefs 2:27
- Caineville Turnoff/Wash 3:13
- Temple of the Sun and the Moon 4:40
- Glass Mountain 5:33
- Cathedral Valley 5:42
--------
Mineral Bottom (0:35): Just outside of Canyonlands, Mineral Bottom is a 16 miles trail, driveable all year round. On August 19th, 2010, severe storms caused flash flooding and rock falls that blocked or washed away roads throughout the Canyonlands area. There is little room for error on this road.
Salt Valley Road (2:06): Filled with amazing views of Arches National Park and Klondike Bluffs this trail offers a very direct route from Crescent Junction to deep inside Arches National Park finishing just shy of Devil's Garden. Enjoy the desert views along the way with varied terrain and take special notice to how the ground colors change as you drive this trail.
San Rafael Swell (2:27): San Rafael Swell has been considered one of the undiscovered natural wonders of the American West. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the Swell offers visitors many of the same sights that can be seen in several of Utah's national parks but allows these visitors to enjoy these sights in leisurely solitude. The San Rafael Swell also provides sights that cannot be found anywhere else, such as Goblin Valley and the San Rafael Reef. Hiking possibilities here range from easy to strenuous- technical canyoneering.
A part of the Colorado Plateau, the San Rafael Swell is high desert country, vastly different from the Sonoran desert of the Southwest. In some sections, it is a sweeping country with towering mesas, buttes, and pinnacles rising from flat desert floors. In other areas, it boasts rolling pasturelands populated with antelope and wild horses. And just around the bend it can become an incredibly wild, broken land with streams cutting through slot canyons that open up to panoramic vistas.
Caineville Turnoff/Wash (3:13): Part of a 57 mile rough dirt loop, departs Utah Highway 24 just west of the hamlet of Caineville and is full of twists and turns as well as a few steep climbs. The road is wild, one lane sandy road with great rock formations. After rain, even a single rainfall, conditions of the road can be challenging. Adverse weather conditions can prompt closure of the road. On maps, the turnoff to the north is not well signed, and anyone unfamiliar with the area should get good directions before attempting to locate this approach. During and after a storm the road may be impassable, even with a four-wheel-drive vehicle and can easily get muddy if it rains making it challenging to get through. The road ends in the Temples of the Sun and Moon, which are located 16.5 miles (26.6 km) up the road in Lower Cathedral Valley. These massive monoliths rise from the desert floor. Further north in Upper Cathedral Valley, columns of spire-like formations dominate the landscape.
Temple of the Sun and the Moon (4:40): The monoliths are composed of the earthy, buff-pink Entrada Sandstone. Deposited 160 million years ago in the Jurassic period, this fine- grained sandstone formed by the deposition of sand and silt in tidal flats. It crumbles easily to a fine sand which is rapidly removed by water; therefore, talus (debris) slopes do not form and Entrada cliffs tend to rise sheer from their base. Above the Entrada, the grayish-green sandstone and siltstone of the Curtis Sandstone forms a hard cap rock on some of the monoliths and higher cliffs and buttes, protecting them from erosion. Above the Curtis is the thinly-bedded, reddish-brown siltstone of the Summerville Formation.
Glass Mountain (5:33): Glass Mountain is a large, exposed mound of selenite crystals. Selenite is a variety of gypsum (CaSO4•2H2O) in the form of glassy crystals. Gypsum is a common mineral found in the sedimentary rocks of this area. The crystals of glass mountain are somewhat unusual in size and in the massiveness of the deposit. Glass Mountain formed as a result of groundwater flowing through the Entrada Sandstone. This water carried dissolved gypsum, which started to crystallize, forming what has been called a gypsum plug. This plug is now being exposed as the soft Entrada Sandstone erodes away.
Cathedral Valley (5:42): The Bentonite Hills among the Hartnet Road and the Painted Desert on the Cathedral Road appear as softly-contoured, banded hills in varying hues of brown, red, purple, gray, and green. This layer was formed during Jurassic times when mud, silt, fine sand, and volcanic ash were deposited in swamps and lakes.

The eruption of Crystal Geyser - Green River - Utah LeAw in the USA //Ep.35
We are living the American dream driving the Historic Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica but we are doing some detours to visit some places we like.
In this 35th episode, we visit and experience the eruption of Crystal Geyser at Green River in Utah. Enjoy the ride with us! ;)
Crystal Geyser is located on the east bank of the Green River approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) downstream from Green River, Utah, United States. It is a rare example of a cold-water carbon dioxide driven geyser; geothermal activity does not play a role in the activity of the geyser. The ground water near the geyser has significant quantities of dissolved carbon dioxide, along with substantial underground gas accumulations in the surrounding area. Saturation of the aquifer with CO2 creates enough pressure to force groundwater through the geyser and out on to the surface.
The geyser erupts sometimes to a height of 130 feet (40 m) or more. During 2005, a study of the timing of the eruptions found them to be bimodal. About 66% of eruptions in the study occurred about 8 hours after the previous eruption, and the rest about 22 hours after. The geyser erupts for an average of one hundred minutes a day, with eruptions either lasting 7–32 minutes, or 98–113 minutes. The bimodal distribution of eruptions is not a well-understood pattern, but is found in other geysers, both cold-water and otherwise.
Between eruption events, the water level is approximately seventeen feet below the surface of the geyser—at the level of the water table. In the preface to an eruption, water surfaces, fills the pond around the geyser, and begins to bubble. Bubbling events occur with increasing frequency in the time leading up to an eruption, but are not constant; bubbling events last for a few minutes, with a few minutes of calm in between. Bubbling events at the main geyser also frequently alternate with bubbling events at natural side-pools.
The current form of the geyser was created by an exploration well drilled in 1935 in attempt to locate oil. The well was originally 2,600 feet (790 m) deep, but an earlier owner of the land partially filled it in, meaning that the well is now only a couple hundred metres deep.
The area surrounding the modern geyser is covered in a thick layer of orange travertine. Near the river, adjacent to the modern orange travertine, are substantial deposits of white travertine, perhaps reflecting the original depositional environment of the geyser (before the exploratory well was drilled.)
The first written record of Crystal Geyser comes from the report of the Powell Geographic Expedition of 1869, July 13, 1869.

Hidden Canyon Overlook Moab UT
Hidden Canyon Overlook is situated northwest of Moab, Utah. This off-road trail is part of the '3D Safari Route', and gives an impression of being deep in the outback. It traverses dirt and sand, and then broad expanses of exposed bedrock or 'slickrock'. Hidden Canyon Overlook culminates approximately 500 feet above a slot canyon known as 'Hidden Canyon' which features red and white sandstone contrasted to blue sky and green vegetation. With the snow-capped La Sal Mountains in the distant east, this place is a visual spectacle to cherish.

Montezuma's Cave video tour | Kanab Utah
Montezuma's Cave was found by William Fredrick Crisp, AKA Freddy Chrystal in the 1920's in Kanab, Utah. Freddy had found a map that supposedly led to the lost Montezuma treasure. No treasure was ever found in the cave, but other clues lead people to believe that the treasure is still buried near by.
