Fresno's Underground Garden was created by one man's American dream | Bartell's Backroads
Baldassare Forestiere immigrated to Fresno, California from Sicily in 1901 with a dream. Unfortunately, he didn't become the citrus farmer like he had wished, but he did create what's now a popular historic landmark, Forestiere Underground Gardens.

My most favorite place I went during Summer 2018 vacation was Forestiere Underground Garden. It’s filled with threes! Three trees in a room, a tree with three main branches, and a room with three benches. I also like it because it isn’t hot in the garden, and it looks like it’s filled with secret passages. It isn’t very dark down below either. My favorite room is the fish room because you can go directly below the pond and see the fish swimming around. My second favorite room is the winter bedroom. Behind a candle is an almost invisible peephole. It was used to look at peoples' shoes! My third favorite place is a room that once had a tree that yielded seven different varieties of citruses. That is why I like the underground garden.
