Klondike Bluffs - Moab, Utah
Dinosaur tracks, slickrock, and washes - consider this trail your very own off-road Jurassic Park experience, without the risk of being eaten by Velociraptors. Klondike Bluffs, sitting just north of Moab and bordering the 300-million years old formations of Arches National Park is truly an enjoyable and interesting 4WD trail. It travels alongside the visible evidence of the Jurassic time period and right up to the mysterious looking rock formations of the Bluffs and Arches National Park.

For the second day of the Chasing Epic Moab trip we took on Klondike Bluffs. Lots of hard, punchy climbs and fun, little descents. We even saw some dinosaur footprints.

Long Canyon - Moab, Utah
Moab, Utah is one of the premier off-road and four-wheel drive destinations. Comprised of some of the most well-known trails in all of the United States it has trail types that suit all driver's wheeling desires. Some would call it an off-roader's paradise. Long Canyon is not a trail in a jeeper's sense but just a dirt road that connects you back into Moab if you are out playing in the Gemini Bridges area. The reward is some of the most breath-taking views that the Moab area has to offer. This trail is best done on a clear day about an hour before sunset to really highlight the scenery. There is a look-out point about half way with about an 800-foot vertical drop into the canyon below. Feel free to explore this area in your vehicles and gain some killer photography, but beware this area is very dangerous and there are no second chances. Small children should be kept close, there are some verticle cracks that small children will undoubtedly find if left by themselves.
Boondocking @ Klondike Bluffs Near Moab Utah
We spend a week boondocking the Klondike Bluffs near Moab Utah. Klondike Bluffs has recreation for just about everyone, a great area for boondocking, hiking, off-roading, rockhounding and mountain biking. Beautiful slickrock and sandstone cliffs to explore with ample boondocking sites. We were here in late April and the wildflowers were blooming with evidence of later spring rain. We were treated to some pretty spectacular thunderstorms with amazing views. If you are here before the temperatures begin to soar don't expect to be alone but that's okay, there is plenty of room for everyone!

Klondike Bluffs and Tower Arch, Arches National Park, Utah
Klondike Bluffs has long been a popular mountain biking area. All of the trails are also open to hikers. The area offers exceptional views into Arches National Park and unique paleontological and mining history.
Located in this remote area, Tower Arch is a wonderful desert hike that will require about 3 hours round trip. The route is 1 1/2 miles each way across open desert. Elevation gain on this hike is minor. This route should be easy for most healthy hikers.

Hidden Canyon Overlook Moab UT
Hidden Canyon Overlook is situated northwest of Moab, Utah. This off-road trail is part of the '3D Safari Route', and gives an impression of being deep in the outback. It traverses dirt and sand, and then broad expanses of exposed bedrock or 'slickrock'. Hidden Canyon Overlook culminates approximately 500 feet above a slot canyon known as 'Hidden Canyon' which features red and white sandstone contrasted to blue sky and green vegetation. With the snow-capped La Sal Mountains in the distant east, this place is a visual spectacle to cherish.

Dead Horse Point Moab - Ride Guide
This is an overview of the The Dead Horse Point Mountain Bike single track at Moab area. It consists of mostly fast flowing single track sections with the occasional technical (tricky) bit here and there for good measure. We covered approx 25 kms moving time in just under 2 hrs. This area is great to ride in all weather conditions. Bring at least 3 litres of water and enough food for a 2-4 hr journey.
