Hiking Mount Walker (Olympic Mountains)
We picked a clear January day to hike to the 2805' summit. From the gate to the trailhead, it's about a quarter mile. The trail (Trail 894) then climbs 2000' in 2 miles to the north viewpoint. From there, it's another quarter mile or so to the south viewpoint. We took the road back down (roughly 4 miles) to avoid the icier conditions on the trail. Total hike: approximately 6.5 miles. Mount Walker - North Summit Vie Panorama - Olympic National Forest
Pano views from the north summit of Mount Walker in the Olympic National Forest. The trailhead is located 5 miles south of the Quilcene Ranger Station, east of 101 off Mount Walker Viewpoint Road. The trail is an unrelenting 2000' climb in 2 miles but worth the views.

Day 24 Olympia Washington and Olympic National Park USA Road Trip Part 2
Today we visit Olympia, the capitol or Washington state, and the amazing Olympic National Park. I had always thought Seattle was the capitol because it is the most popular and visited city, but I was wrong.
I knew Olympic was a big national park, but I did not realized truly how big it was until I started to explore it today, This park is massive and has everything from the only rain forest in the USA to mountains, forests, beaches, nearby towns and Indian reservations, waterfalls and so much more to offer.
There are some long and short hikes to do and if you chose to do an overnight hike you have to get a permit. But you must of nothing else go to Mt Walker Viewpoint, Hurricane Ridge, Port Townsend and drive along the Hood Canal. The water here is so perfect and the lakes are great as well for tubing and water skiing. Plus they have several camp sites and lodges, but you want to book ahead of time! Be sure to do all of you planing for your trip to olympic national park, otherwise you will have to wait or miss out on a campground.
Let's start a movement. Traveling before or while in college should be commonplace and expected. The power of travel is life-changing and has the potential to enhance society overall. When you travel you learn AMAZING things about yourself, the people around you, the world around you and the opportunities there are.
Without travel I argue that you will never realize your fullest potential because there is so much that you are missing out. Traveling even the smallest of distances will change the way your mind thinks and lead to what society needs most, people who have found a passion, are pursuig it and discovering breakthrough technologies, theories, lifestyles, careers and more.
In Europe this is already commonplace to take a semester, summer, month or year off to explore the EU before or during college. I want to make it commonplace in the United States of America as well. It is possible to do it on any budget and I help people learn how to make it a reality. Find out more at:

This is on my family's property in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. The stone looks unnaturally round and smooth on the south facing side, which may have been the top of the stone when it was once standing upright.

Christine Falls, USA
Christine Falls is a waterfall on Van Trump Creek in Pierce County, Washington.
The falls are 21 m feet high and are best known for having a bridge spanning the lower drop. The upper drop is 9.8 m high and is almost impossible to film in tandem with the oft-photographed 11 m lower tier.

Mount Baker- Railroad Grade, Park Butte
These images were captured while hiking Railroad Grade and Park Butte trails on the south side of Mount Baker.
Mount Baker is an active, glaciated volcano in Northwest Washington State, 31 miles due east of the city of Bellingham. It is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc and Cascade Range.
At 10,781 ft., Mount Baker is the third-highest mountain in Washington State and the fifth-highest mountain in the Cascade Range.
Mount Baker is the youngest volcano in the United States, and the second most active after Mount Saint Helens. Mount Baker last erupted in 1880.
Mount Baker is a great place to camp, climb, hike and backpack. You'll find glacier-covered peaks, wildflower-filled meadows, and old-growth forests. The mountain and surrounding area is part of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and much of it is designated wilderness.
