Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
Recorded April 8, 2017
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in Palm Springs, California, is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world. It was opened in September 1963 as a way of getting from the floor of the Coachella Valley to relatively near the top of San Jacinto Peak and was constructed in rugged Chino Canyon. The twelve-and-a-half minute ride begins at the Valley Station at 2,643 feet and passes up North America's sheerest mountain face through five life zones on its way to the Mountain Station at 8,516 feet. Travelers start in the Sonoran Desert and arrive at an alpine forest. Passengers disembark at the Mountain Station in the alpine wilderness of Long Valley and Mount San Jacinto State Park. The air can be as much as 40 °F cooler at the top than in the desert.

Clothing Optional at Living Waters Spa
Freedom, no restrictions, no limitations. That’s the language of clothing optional. It’s a lifestyle in which those who subscribe, say their philosophy is simple, naked is normal. In Greater Palm Springs there are several properties offering the no-clothes option. Living Waters Spa in Desert Hot Springs is one of the few to come dressed-up with the offer of natural hot mineral water, direct from Mother Earth. The European Style hotel and spa also has a handsome history in a city known for both its spas and its hot, healing, water. Wander with host Anndee Laskoe to a place where it’s okay to go barefoot all over.

Superman returns Palm Springs Desert Winds Freedom Band
Desert Winds Freedom Band April 6, 2008 performance at The Annenberg Art Museum Palm Springs, California, USA
Visit home page at desertwindsfb.org The Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians is composed of several small groups of Indians who were living in the modern day Palm Springs area when the Agua Caliente Reservation was established by the United States Government in 1896. Archaeological research has shown that the Cahuilla have lived in the area for the past 15,000 years. The reservation occupies 32,000 acres (130 km²), of which 6,700 acres (27 km²) lie within the city limits, making the Agua Caliente band the city's largest landowner. The reservation land was originally composed of alternating squares of land laid out across the desert in a checkerboard pattern. The alternating, non-reservation squares, were provided by the United States Government to the Southern Pacific Railroad as an incentive to bring rail lines through the open desert. Tribal enrollment is currently estimated at between 296 and 365 people. The Cahuilla name for the area was Se-Khi (boiling water). In the early 1800s, Spanish explorers named the area Agua Caliente (hot water). An alternative use of palm is revealed in the November 1992 issue of Art of California. At least one Spanish explorer referred to the area as la Palma de la Mano de dios or The Palm of God's hand, (page 45). The current name for the area is Palm Springs which likely came into common usage in the mid-1860s when the land was first surveyed by U.S. Government surveyors who noted that a local mineral spring was located at the base of two bunches of palms. By 1884 when San Francisco attorney John Guthrie McCallum settled in Palm Springs, the name was already in wide acceptance.

Queen Sized Flava made in Montreal
**** English version bellow *****
Sarah a.k.a DoubleXL
Welcome!
Queen Sized Flava is a movement for Montrealers to promote plus size fashion and to bring it to the attention of Quebec's fashion industry in order to make it more accessible. With your help, ladies, I am planning to show that in Quebec, there is a lot of work to be done in order to satisfy us since what is currently offered to us is either very expensive or simply not up to our expectations.
It only takes a walk on Ste-Catherine Street to realize that plus size fashion in Quebec is still weak if we compare to the United States and the United Kingdom. Then together, it becomes our duty as dissatisfy consumers to make things change.
I encourage you to use this page as a direct tool of communications with the industry so they could read your comments on what you think about the Queen Sized Flava movement. Please feel free to write me about your frustrations towards the fashion world in general, your traumatic in-stores experiences or simply what are your main concerned when it comes to feeling beautiful and confident.
Hope to make a difference together!
Sarah aka DoubleXL
How To Download Google Maps for offline use
Read more Technology & Travel News:

Google Maps can get you out of a jam if you're lost or trying to find a place, but it doesn't help you if you're traveling out of country and trying to a avoid roaming charges from your cellular provider. The fix is to save Google Maps directions offline so you can access the info without using data. Here's how to do it. (Hint: do this before you go offline)
For Apple or Android Users:
1 On your phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.2 Make sure you're connected to the Internet and signed in to Google Maps.3 Search for a place, like Palm Springs, Madrid, you get the idea.4 At the bottom of the page, tap the name or address of the place (in the white bar). If you search for a place like a restaurant, tap More.5 Select Download.
When you want to get turn by turn directions from the map, you can. After you download an area, use the Google Maps app just like you normally would. If your Internet connection is slow or absent, you'll see a lightning bolt and Google Maps will use your offline areas to give you directions instead.• Get directions and see routes• Use navigation• Search for locations
It's worth noting you can get driving directions offline, but not transit, bicycling, or walking directions. In your driving directions, you won't have traffic info, alternate routes, or lane guidance. You also can't modify routes like avoiding tolls or ferries.
Save money on roaming fees, save data usage and keep connected while travelling. Do you have map, gadget, or travel tips to share? Post them in comments below.
Santa Monica College Shooting Witness Jason Garrett (June 7, 2013, 2:29 PM)
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Four people were killed and five wounded on Friday morning as a gunman, dressed in black and carrying an assault rifle, strode across Santa Monica firing at people, cars, a public bus and buildings before being shot and killed by the police at the Santa Monica College Library, the authorities said.
The Santa Monica police at first said six people had been killed by the gunman. On Friday evening, Sgt. Richard Lewis said the actual figure was four. One of the victims was said to be in critical condition.
The shooting took place about 10 minutes away from where President Obama was attending a private fund-raising lunch before heading to Palm Springs for a meeting with the president of China. He went by motorcade to the Los Angeles airport and flew to Palm Springs about 2 p.m.
The gunman, who was not identified, was described as 25 to 30 years old. His body was spotted lifeless about 200 yards from the library.
The carnage began Friday morning in eastern Santa Monica after the police responded to reports of shots being fired and a house engulfed in flames. The police said that two bodies had been found in the house, and that they were investigating whether those victims were related to the gunman.
From there, the gunman, wielding what the police said was probably an AR-15, hijacked a car driven by a young women and forced her to drive her across town toward the campus. Along the way, he emerged from the car at at least two intersections in this quiet beach town, firing indiscriminately at buildings, a public bus, cars and a police vehicle before ending his rampage in a confrontation with Santa Monica city and campus police officers.
At one point on Friday, the police said they had detained a potential suspect who they thought might have had a role in the shootings. Sergeant Lewis said the person was released and had no involvement in the shooting.
The authorities said the gunman, in addition to carrying the assault rifle, was armed with other weapons, including at least one handgun that was found at the scene.
Witnesses described a morning of terror, chaos and confusion.
Joe Orcutt, who works at the bursar's office at Santa Monica College, said he went out to investigate after hearing what he first thought was a car backfiring. He turns and points his gun at me, and at that point I jumped out of the way, Mr. Orcutt said. He shot, and I ducked out of the way.
Witnesses described racing out the back door of the college library after the man walked in and opened fire.
I didn't want to take any chances, said Cyrus Jabbari, 19, a freshman at the college.
Brett Holzhauer, 19, a student who was in the library, said blood was smeared on the walls and floors.
There were hundreds of rounds of clips laying on the floor, he said. It looked like the guy just dropped his stuff right there.
None of the people who were killed or wounded were immediately identified.
The rampage, starting at the burning house and ending at the library, took about 10 minutes, the authorities said.
Two people were found dead inside the burning house on Yorkshire Avenue. From there, the gunman, who the police said was wearing a bulletproof vest, shot two people sitting in a Ford Explorer; one of them died and the other was taken to Ronald Reagan U.C.L.A. Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition. He continued to Santa Monica College, where he fatally shot a woman he encountered at the campus before heading toward the library.
Another woman was listed in serious condition at the Reagan hospital. Three other women had minor injuries and were in good condition at the U.C.L.A. Medical Center, Santa Monica.

FOUND GAME MASTER SECRET HIDEOUT & Searching PROJECT ZORGO Abandoned Clues (Escape Room Challenge)

After Vy Qwaint made ESCAPING PROJECT ZORGO COMPUTER ESCAPE ROOM (Searching Missing Daniel & Game Master Evidence) Daniel uploaded HIDING FROM PROJECT ZORGO GUARD DOG IN ABANDONED JUNKYARD and I, Chad Wild Clay created TRAPPED in PROJECT ZORGO COMPUTER ESCAPE ROOM (Searching Missing Daniel Evidence, Riddles & Clues), the PZ mystery man dropped a clue that we needed to decode. After we solved the riddles and discovered the secret hidden address, we arrived, entered, and started exploring. Is this another headquarters or office? Is this where Project Zorgo trains their new recruits? We have to get to the bottom of this. An interesting theory you ninjas commented was that this hidden headquarters might have something to do with the Game Master who has been messing with YouTubers like Matt and Rebecca, Rebecca Zamolo and Grace & Stephen Sharer. Although Daniel is missing he is still filming videos on Exposing Project Zorgo but we need to figure out his location to save him! In the computer room we played a game where we had to solve riddles. It was a challenge but we won and the screens gave us clues to go to Florida. When we arrived we found what looked like an abandoned creepy house. We are suspicious that this is The Game Masters top secret escape room headquarters. We found our friends there which was very suspicious. Suddenly we got locked inside of a room. We were trapped and had to find a way to decipher clues to escape! We tried to break into the cabinets and do an unboxing haul of the contents inside. Thank you for watching my entertainment comedy videos in 2018!

How to Achieve Your Most Ambitious Goals | Stephen Duneier | TEDxTucson
How you define Stephen Duneier depends on how you came to know him. Some define him as an expert institutional investor, while others know him as a large scale installation artist, avid outdoorsman, professor, decision strategist, coach, business leader, mindfulness extremist, author, speaker, daredevil or Guinness world record holder. In his talk, Stephen explains that what truly defines him aren't titles, but an approach to decision making that transformed him from someone who struggled with simple tasks to a guy who is continuously achieving even his most ambitious dreams.
For thirty years, he has applied cognitive science to investing, business and life. The result has been the turnaround of numerous institutional businesses, career best returns for managers who have adopted his methods, the development of a $1.25 billion dollar hedge fund and a rapidly shrinking bucket list.
Mr. Duneier teaches graduate courses on Decision Analysis in UCSB’s College of Engineering. His book, AlphaBrain is due for release in early 2017 from Wiley & Sons.
Through Bija Advisors, he helps business leaders improve performance by applying proven, proprietary decision-making methods to their own processes.
His artwork has been featured around the world and is represented by the Sullivan Goss Gallery. As Commissioner of the League of Professional Educators, Duneier is using cognitive science to alter the landscape of American education. He is the former Head of Currency Option Trading at Bank of America and Emerging Markets at AIG International.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

TEDxMaastricht - Simon Sinek - First why and then trust
Simon Sinek (@simonsinek) created a simple model, The Golden Circle, that codifies what makes the most inspiring people and organizations so successful and influential. Beginning as a student in anthropology, Simon Sinek turned his fascination with people into a career of convincing people to do what inspires them. Through his struggle to rediscover his excitement about life and work, he made some profound realizations and began helping his friends and their friends to find their why — at first charging just $100, person by person. Never planning to write a book, he penned Start With Why simply as a way to distribute his message. With a bold goal to help build a world in which the vast majority of people go home everyday feeling fulfilled by their work, Sinek is leading a movement to inspire people to do the things that inspire them.
Now Simon takes the next step. After why comes : trust.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMaastricht, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxMaastricht event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Please take a look at this video that explains what TEDx has become:
About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani,Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide.
TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world, and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
