Rikugien Garden, Tokyo in 4K - 六義園 - Japan As It Truly Is
Rikugien Garden is one of Tokyo's very finest and will make you forget you're in one of the world's biggest and crowded cities.
Incidentally, the Rikugien Garden was created in 1702 as a feudal lord's garden, and it survives to this day much as it was back then. The best times to see the garden are in the spring and autumn - it's especially popular - and crowded - in the latter, during the 2nd half of November for the autumn leaves.
The name Rikugien comes from the six principles of composing old waka poetry, which in turn came from an ancient Chinese book. There are many kinds of flowers that bloom from late winter to autumn.
Rikugien Garden covers nearly 88,000 sq. meters and is open 9-5 (last entry 4:30 PM). Entrance fee is 300 yen.

Rikugien Garden - Tokyo - 六義園 - 4K Ultra HD
Located a little bit north of Tokyo near the Tokyo Bunkyo Civic Center and Tokyo Dome, Rikugien belongs to a group of nine parks in Tokyo managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association. Thanks to a staff dedicated to maintaining this park, Rikugien is among of the most beautiful parks you can find in Tokyo. It features some stunning scenery at night during the turning leaves season when the park if fully lit-up.
Build around 1700 for the 5th Tokugawa Shogun, Rikugien is another good example of park design from the Edo Period and comes with a story of its own! Rikugien literally means, The ‘six poems garden, and here you can see reproductions in miniature, of 88 scenes from famous Japanese poems!

These gardens were constructed by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu on land given to him in 1695 by Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the fifth shogun. Yoshiyasu spent seven years constructing a garden with paths around artificial hills and a pond. As the land was part of the flat Musashino region, when building the gardens he had to dig a pond, create hills, and bring in water from the Senkawa water supply to fill the pond.

Rikugien is a circuit style garden with manmade hills and ponds that reflect tastes and flaver of the world of Waka poetry, and it was constructed in 1702 by the lord of Kawagoe domain, Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu who was deeply trusted by the 5th shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. This delicate and genial garden provides viewing pleasure of changing sights strolling along the routes that surround the pond.

Kiyosumi Garden in Tokyo
The Kiyosumi gardens are said to have been part of the residence of the business man Kinokuniya Bunzaemon in the Edo period (1603-1868). In the Meiji period, the founder of Mitsubishi, Iwasaki Yataro, bought the land an remodeled the garden to entertain guests as well as for the enjoyment of his employees.
Today it is famous for its very special stones, collected from all over Japan.

Homeikan (Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan) -Traditional Japanese Inn
Welcome to Homeikan. Located near Tokyo University and Tokyo Dome in a quiet part of the city, this Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) has two buildings: a Honkan and a Bekkan.
Originally a private residence, Homeikan has a history of 100 years and, as a result it is a little run down; however, it has a lot of character and atmosphere and there is also a beautiful Japanese garden at the Bekkan. Homeikan is a traditional ryokan and none of the Japanese-style guest rooms have private baths or toilets.
There are 3 shared baths here and the baths are open 24 hours a day. Homeikan does not have a curfew so guests are free to enjoy the Tokyo nightlife.
Check-in time is after 15:00 but all guests must check in by 22:00 (10:00 pm) - no exceptions.
If you arrive after 22:00 Homekan will be closed, your reservation will be cancelled, and you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. Check-out time is before 10:00 am.

1695年（元禄8年）に約2万7千坪の平坦な土地に土を盛って丘を築き、千川上水を引いて池を掘り、7年の歳月をかけて作りました。
In 1695, built a hill with soil on a flat land of about 27,000 tsubo(22.056acre), drew water from The Senkawakami River, dug a pond, and made it over the course of seven years

One of Tokyo’s most beautiful Japanese landscape gardens, Rikugien Garden was completed in 1695 for the fifth Tokugawa Shogun. The name means 'six poems garden' and the pathways through the 21 acre garden reveal intricate little gardens that supposedly reproduce 88 scenes from famous poems.
