Giraffe's Safari West, Sonoma, CA
Safari West is a 400-acre (160 ha) private wildlife preserve located in Sonoma County, California, United States.
The selection of wildlife emphasizes species native to Africa, including giraffes, rhinoceros, cheetahs, and numerous species of birds. The park engages in breeding programs that, through exchanges with other zoos and parks, keep the gene pool healthy for the species that are involved in the program. The park is also home to species that are considered to be extinct in the wild.
The park, one of six accredited private zoos in the United States,[2] combines wild animal care with vacation lodging.[3] The establishment was started in the early 1970s on a cattle ranch in Beverly Hills, California, owned by Otto Lang, a film director who worked on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Sea Hunt, Flipper, and Daktari.[4] Peter Lang, his son, inspired by his father's interest in animals, began to keep wild animals on the ranch.[2]
After selling the Beverly Hills property, for use as a park, Peter Lang moved the operation to a larger ranch near Calistoga, California, in 1978, and then in 1989 to its present location on a former sheep ranch near Santa Rosa, California. In 1993, he opened it to children's tours, and later added overnight lodging, safari tours, and a restaurant. As of 2013, it had about 900 animals of approximately 79 animal species.[3][4]

Santa Rosa, California
Santa Rosa is a city in and the county seat of Sonoma County, California, United States. Its estimated 2014 population was 174,170.Santa Rosa is the largest city in California's Redwood Empire, Wine Country and the North Bay; the fifth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area after San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, and Fremont; and the 28th most populous city in California.
Before the arrival of Europeans, the wide valley containing Santa Rosa was home to a strong and populous tribe of Pomo natives known as the Bitakomtara. The Bitakomtara controlled the valley closely, barring passage to others until permission was arranged. Those who entered without permission were subject to harsh penalties. The tribe gathered at ceremonial times on Santa Rosa Creek near present-day Spring Lake Regional Park. Upon the arrival of Europeans, the Pomos were decimated by smallpox brought from Europe, and by the eradication efforts of Anglo settlers. By 1900 the Pomo population had decreased by 95%.
In 1867, the county recognized Santa Rosa as an incorporated city and in 1868 the state officially confirmed the incorporation, making it officially the third incorporated city in Sonoma County, after Petaluma, incorporated in 1858, and Healdsburg, incorporated in 1867. The 1906 San Francisco earthquake essentially destroyed the entire downtown, but the city's population did not greatly suffer. However, after that period the population growth of Santa Rosa, as with most of the area, was very slow.
Famed director Alfred Hitchcock filmed his thriller Shadow of a Doubt in Santa Rosa in 1943; the film gives glimpses of Santa Rosa in the 1940s. Many of the downtown buildings seen in the film no longer exist due to major reconstruction following the strong earthquakes in October 1969. However, some, like the rough-stone Northwestern Pacific Railroad depot and the prominent Empire Building (built in 1910 with a gold-topped clock tower), still survive.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 41.50 sq mi , of which 41.29 sq miles is land and 0.205 sq mi (0.49%) is water.
The 2010 United States Census reported that Santa Rosa had a population of 167,815. The population density was 4,043.8 people per square mile.

Sonoma Wine Country - California - July 2019 - Roadtrip Vlog
Sonoma Wine Country is the other half of the wine producing region of the Bay Area. Although both areas share a world famous wine and food heritage, both could not be more different from each other. Sonoma is laid back with wide open wineries and less tourists.

ONE BAY AREA: Sonoma County, Santa Rosa, Ca. ANGRY citizens versus local Government - near riot!
In April and May of 2011 One Bay Area had hosted public input meetings and an additional set of in January 2012 to showcase their vision and to solicit public feedback. This is one of those meetings.
Lead by Heather Gass, concerned citizens were irate with this proposed plan and the unfair and manipulative manor in which the meetings are conducted - known as the Delphi Technique.
Agenda 21 is the Master Plan put forth by the United Nations in 1992 and adopted by President Bill Clinton. Agenda 21 is a green initiative which targets cars and people living outside from cities who must commute. Their goal is to develop large, congested city centers for people to reside, and provide mass transit for the city dwellers to commute to work. It also targets large parcels of land in the world, including the United States, to be redistricted to open space land, thereby making it undevelopable.
Agenda 21 was readily adopted in California by liberal politicians, specifically in the San Francisco Bay Area, under the name Plan Bay Area. Plan Bay Area's goal is to develop large congested downtown metro areas, with shops, stores, theaters, and mass high rise housing. They aim to get people out of their private suburban residences and cars, and warehouse them in these large metro areas. These areas will also house California's large illegal immigrant population.
