Surprise in the Forest - Auderghem - Visit Belgium #16/589

A Belgian Challenge, I would like to visit all 589 Belgian Municipalities. In this video I visit Auderghem, a municipality in the Brussels Capital Region.

The Rouge-Cloître Abbey (Abbaye du Rouge-Cloître or Rood Klooster) is an Augustinian abbey, founded in 1367. It is located on the edge of the Sonian Forest (Forêt de Soignes or Zoniënwoud).
The abbey became property of the Brussels Capital Region and a lot of artist came here to work. The abbey is surrounded by a nature reserve, one of 5 in the Sonian Forest. When I was there I saw a lot of animals, which were too fast for my camera (or for me).

NL: Ik ben de uitdaging aangegaan om alle 589 Belgische gemeenten te bezoeken. In deze video bezoek ik mijn 16 de gemeente: Oudergem in het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest.

Het Rood Klooster is een augustijnen klooster, opgericht in 1367. Het klooster ligt op de rand van het Zoniënwoud. Het klooster werd eigendom van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk gewest en er kwamen heel wat artiesten werken. Het klooster is omringd door een mooi natuurreservaat, een van de 5 in het Zoniënwoud. Ik zag er veel diere, sommigen waren echter te snel (muis, eekhoorns) voor mijn camera (of voor mij)

Autumn finally starts, which means that some parts of Brussels are covered with incredible colors and breath-taking views!

The city glows up, once again, with details, shades and inspiring landscapes that are just waiting for the right eyes to be caught and portrayed!

Instagrammers, photographers and nature lovers, take out your cameras and walk around the city, to discover this season’s hidden treasures and surprises!

If you are looking for some ideas or inspiration, Bois de la Cambre is one of the few spots you should definitively not miss!

Bois de la Cambre (French) or Ter Kamerenbos (Dutch) is an urban public park on the edge of the Sonian Forest in Brussels, Belgium. The park lies in the south of the Brussels-Capital Region, and in the municipality of the City of Brussels and covers an area of 1.23 square kilometres (0.47 square miles). It is linked to the rest of the municipality by Avenue Louise/Louizalaan, which was built in 1861, at the same time the park was laid out.

The park comprises a small lake with an island in the centre, called Robinson's Island. Its water is polluted with cyanobacteria and signs are posted at regular intervals, warning of a risk of botulism.
