JAPANTRIP「Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame」Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo【野球殿堂博物館】
The Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (野球体育博物館 Yakyū Taiiku Hakubutsukan?) is a museum which includes a library, reference rooms and Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame (野球殿堂 Yakyū Dendō?).
It first opened in 1959 next door to Korakuen Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. In 1988, the museum moved to a new site within the Tokyo Dome.
The Hall of Fame and Museum was created as a means to contribute to the development of baseball in Japan through dedication of baseball greats—players, executives, and umpires—as Hall of Famers. In addition, the facility houses many memorable baseball materials including various kinds of baseball literature.

A Visit to Tokyo's Dome City and the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame
I edited and posted this video for the benefit of baseball lovers and my friends who have never and may never get to visit the Japanese baseball hall of fame in Tokyo. Seeped in history and lore, I highly recommend taking yourself for a tour in this well kept facility. It is only 500 yen ($5) to get in and is located right next to the Tokyo Dome, where the Yomiuri Giants play.
There are 177 inductees into the Hall. There is also are sections devoted to high school baseball, college baseball and a women's league. I also got to watch a demonstration concerning the physics of a pitched baseball. Did you know baseball continued in Japan during World War II, just as it did in the United States?
My video is a tribute to all that is Japanese baseball and a memory for my friends.

One Hundred Years of the Morrison Collection at the Tōyō Bunko
In October 1917, the collection of the Asiatic Library in Beijing, founded by G. E. Morrison, arrived in Tokyo. In the collection, there were books, manuscripts, various pamphlets, and other materials covering the whole of Asia, with China as its main focus. In total, there were more than 20,000 volumes.
Currently, the Tōyō Bunko holds more than one million books and other materials on Asia, with around 250 research fellows. The whole collection is open to the public.
This lecture will introduce the Morrison collection in the Tōyō Bunko using examples from its research projects, exhibitions, and digitization program to further understanding of G. E. Morrison and his family's history.

JAPANTRIP「Japan Football Museum」Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 【日本サッカーミュージアム】
The Japan Football Museum possesses and displays many valuable documents and materials preserved over ninety years of our glorious history that trace the outstanding achievements of Japanese football and the footprints of our forerunners who laid the foundation for our thriving status today.
Recent additions to the collection include the FIFA Women's World Cup champion trophy won by Nadeshiko Japan and the subsequent People's Honour Award, which became the first time the Government of Japan bestowed the honour upon a team and not an individual, as well as the FA Silver Cup, which was restored on the occasion of the JFA's 90th anniversary.
Visitors can relive the excitement and memories of the 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by Japan and Korea or enjoy the powerful images of Japanese football at the world's first Virtual Stadium, equipped with a giant screen and a mega-vision system, and a 3D theatre with a huge 150-inch screen that are also featured inside the Museum.
The spirit and principles of Japanese football preserved here in tangible and intangible forms will be passed on to future generations by the Japan Football Museum.
