Fixit Clinic at Wellfleet Public Library 2019
Fix It Clinic is an all-ages, hands-on activity where people bring their broken household things and learn how to assess, disassemble, and repair them instead of throwing them away. Sponsored by the Wellfleet Recycling Committee, Boomerang Bags Cape Cod, and the Wellfleet Public Library -- the initiative was inspired by Fixit Clinic Founder, Peter Mui, who has overseen more than 100 clinics nationwide. The goal of the Fix It Clinic, with the help of Fix It coaches, is to educate and empower people of all ages to fix their own things.
Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards at Wellfleet Public Library
Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards are clearly inheritors of a timeless legacy, creating music that is both original and evocative of a rich tradition. Blending distinctive voices and a wide range of accompaniment (guitar, harmonica, ukulele, clarinet, penny whistle, electric bass), their songs have been well-received by audiences around the eastern United States and Canada since 2010. Transcending the genre of folk Americana, their music echoes inspiration from traditional folk duos and singer/songwriters like Ian & Sylvia, Kate Wolf and Neil Young – combining beautiful harmonies and a lyrical intensity, while establishing a unique sound of their own.
Both artists are products of central Massachusetts mill and factory towns, and for all their national exposure, they are passionately dedicated to the region and what it has to offer. Each summer for the past decade they have organized the “Massachusetts Walking Tour” where they hike the roads and trails of the Commonwealth, more than 100 miles in less than two weeks, in support of the arts in local communities along the way. Each evening they stop over in yet another Massachusetts town, putting on a free concert there, along with local performers and fellow artists who accompany them on their journey. These annual two-week treks also raise awareness of the trails and greenways in Massachusetts, using music to make important connections.
This concert occurred at the Wellfleet Public Library on Monday, May 6th, 2019 at 6:30pm.

Now, Ben collaborates with engineers, conservation planners, and environmental technicians to plan and design natural resource management projects on the Cape and throughout Massachusetts. He resides in Wellfleet and continues working on private consulting in conservation mitigation, environmental planning, and sustainable landscape design. Ben is also a member of Boomerang Bags Cape Cod, a volunteer group working to reduce plastic pollution, and keep textiles out of the landfill, by making reusable bags out of up-cycled fabrics that are distributed for free into the community.

Story Walk at the Spencer Borden Elementary School June 6 2013
Students from the Spencer Borden Elementary School on President Avenue had a chance to enjoy some great books and to get some health walking in all at the school's Annual Family Reading Night on June 6, 2013. The program began with two stories read by David Mello, Children's Librarian at the Fall River Public Library. The children then moved outside to enjoy a walk-to-read event called Story Walk. The main goal is to get parents into reading and fitness and to have a good time, commented School Principal Michael Ward. StoryWalk is the brainchild of the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition who has trademarked the brand. The project was funded by VOICES for a Healthy Southcoast through a grant from the Greater New Bedford Allies for Health and Wellness.Additional copies of the book were donated to the participating classrooms by Partners for a Healthier Community. Planning for this project involved VOICES co-coach and YMCA Southcoast Vice-President of Operations Nancy Bonell and School Wellness Coordinator Marcia Picard. Release of Little Dude into Assonet Bay
Litte Dude, a threatened diamondback terrapin, emerged on August 23rd, 2007 with 16 more live siblings from a nest on the Assonet Bay Shores Beach in Freetown. He weighed 6.6 grams at emergence, measured a smidgeon over an inch long and sported a large, pinkish yolk sac. His siblings were released within a week, but this character was the runt of the litter, and would not likely have survived. Overwintering with the National Marine Life Center in Buzzards Bay, Little Dude grew to hockey puck size and was released today, August 9th, 2008 back into his natal habitat. Carl Brodeur & the Assonet Bay community, the NMLC team and Sue Wieber Nourse of Cape Cod Consultants released Little Dude at 2:30 pm this afternoon (August 9th, 2008).

Creepy Places of New England: Pilgrim Monument
Facebook:
The Pilgrims first landed in Provincetown, Massachusetts in 1620, and to honor them there is a tall granite tower simply called Pilgrim Monument. The monument was finished being built in 1910 and is about 252 feet high. Located on High Pole Hill Road, it is one of the most recognizable sites in all of Cape Cod. With my friends, we explore the sight and even go to the top, but this episode is paranormal free.

Why This Man Says He Taunts Police Officers
Being a police officer is a very stressful job, but it's being made worse for cops by some people who claim they’re filming police to hold them accountable. Critics say they’re taunting officers to provoke them into situations they can record and post on social media. In some instances caught on camera, cops have had pig noises made at them or been called “piggy.” Inside Edition’s Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero asked tough questions to the man who called an officer piggy.
Welcome to Cuttyhunk Island | Gosnold, MA
I flew my drone at Cuttyhunk Island during the spring of 2014 and captured this footage of the western side of the island.
Cuttyhunk is a peaceful scenic place that has a feel of Martha's Vineyard from 70 years ago. It's almost stuck in time so to speak ... and I hope it stays that way!

Massive winter storm roars into Northeast after dropping rare snow on South -- live updatesResidents across a huge swath of the U.S. were hunkered down as a massive winter storm packing snow, ice and high winds, followed by possible record-breaking cold, moved up the Eastern Seaboard. The worst conditions were expected from the Carolinas to Maine. The massive storm began two days ago in the Gulf of Mexico, first hitting the Florida Panhandle. It has prompted thousands of canceled flights, shuttered schools and businesses and sparked fears of coastal flooding and power outages. Wind gusts of 50 mph to 60 mph, strong enough to cause downed trees and power lines, are predicted in places where the National Weather Service has issued blizzard warnings. They include the Delmarva Peninsula, which includes parts of Delaware, Virginia and Maryland; coastal New Jersey; eastern Long Island, New York; and coastal eastern New England. After the storm, a wave of bracing cold is forecast to hit much of the Northeast. The storm dumped snow in Tallahassee, Florida, Wednesday -- that city's first snow in nearly three decades -- before slogging up the Atlantic coast and smacking Southern cities such as Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina, with a rare blast of snow and ice. Follow along with updates below as the storm works its way up the coast.
