Slacklife TV Episode 79 Castleton Tower Highline
The Great Bungholio lives again! The nearly 500m long beast rests between Castleton Tower and The Rectory... It once was the longest line in the world and now is the home of the Female World Record held by Mia Noblet. Friedi, Danny, and Spencer also sent. I crossed with 2 catches there, 1 catch on the way back. Catrina crossed, and Max had more attempts when I left!! overall it was an amazing mission. So muuuuuch goodness. Such amazing walking. More footage to come. Time to de-rig ;D #Slacklife
Arches Fiery Furnace Hike Tour
I was passing through Moab, Utah and decided to stop and take a couple of tours through Arches National Park (via Moab Adventure Center). I was hoping for a little more rugged and strenuous experience, but they were still great!
Climbing Ancient Art at Fisher Towers near Moab, Utah
Ancient Art is a four-pitch 5.8 (5.10+ if unassisted) mixed climb in the Fisher Towers about 45 minutes from Moab. The biggest challenge for us wasn't the technical aspect of the climb, but the complete exposure in the last pitch, when ground falls away all around you and you're walking on a piece of rock not much wider than a ruler. Big thanks to Nate, owner of Moab Desert Adventures, for guiding us.

Ep. 98: Canyonlands National Park & Moab | RV travel Utah camping
Canyonlands encompasses over 337,000 acres of high Eastern Utah desert including colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches, and spires. Water and gravity have been the primary architects of this land, sculpting layers of rock into the rugged landscape you see today.
While boondocking on state land for free camping along Dalton Wells Road, we explore Gemini Bridges, travel Island in the Sky, descend the precipitous Shafer Trail, visit Thelma & Louise Point, check out the climbers along Wall Street, grab a burger at Milt's Stop 'n Eat, and preview the BLM campgrounds along the Colorado Riverway Recreation Area.
Filmed April 23-26, 2019.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

ABOUT CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK IN UTAH
Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure between Zion/Bryce National Parks and Arches National Park. Capitol Reef is a 100-mile pinch in the earth’s crust in the geographical middle of nowhere, but it’s overloaded with geological, cultural and sensory consequence … tiny cross-section of the spinning rock we’re clinging to. Named for what it looks like (white rock domes like the U.S. Capitol, rocky ridges like marine reefs) — but isn’t — because it wasn’t like anything anyone had ever seen.
There’s the Waterpocket Fold ... a jagged scar where the devil dragged his pitchfork on the way to Las Vegas (a.k.a a monocline — the seam left over when shifting plates lifted one side of a fault 7,000 feet). Spend your brief time absorbing what took 70 million years and two major geologic events to create.
There are red and white rock bands … more virtuosic than Jack White himself. The Waterpocket fold horizontalizes layers of white Navajo Sandstone, red Wingate, shale and pinkish Entrada Sandstone like an entropic chunk of tipped cake. Depending on where you stand, the stripes are half an inch or half a mile wide. (You may find the iron in the red rocks magnetizes your camera lens.)
There are ruined civilizations … both ancient and recent. Fremont Indian rock shelters a mile and a thousand years from Mormon settlers’ cabins. Pictographs and grinding stones in the cliffs, apple orchards and a one-room schoolhouse in Fruita down below. See how earlier Utah people lived and see if they didn’t do a few things better than us.
Narrow rivers cutting gaping Goosenecks. Chimney Rock. Hickman Bridge. Broken towers’ jagged shadows. Look deep into the earth’s time and space from this one little foothold on, say, a Tuesday. Drive, camp and hike. Consider the bighorn sheep. Zoom in. Zoom out.
That’s just a small part of the adventure and beauty you’ll find here in this beautiful National Park Service unit!

Ep. 102: Goblin Valley & Little Wild Horse | Utah RV travel camping
After leaving Bears Ears, we head north up the scenic Utah State Route 95 to camp between Goblin Valley State Park and Little Wild Horse Canyon. We boondock for free at the foot of rugged Wild Horse Mesa, walk among the unique hoodoos of Goblin Valley, and hike into Little Wild Horse Canyon, a narrow and picturesque slot canyon carved deep into the sandstone of the San Rafael Reef that makes a great introduction to canyoneering.
