PARTYING with the VENEZUELA AIRFORCE | Canaima Travel Vlog 2019
With all the talk of in the news of a Venezuela crisis, Nicolas Maduro, and a devastated economy in 2019 ... we wanted to show a different side of this beautiful country.
In this episode we travel back from Angel Falls in Canaima National Park to our basecamp. Along the way we make a quick pit stop to try some Cachiri, a local fermented alcoholic beverage using Casava. Upon arriving at basecamp, we find a surprise.
The Venezuela Airforce was doing a tour of the small communities, at was at our lodge. A concert had been organized, and emotions were running high. Unfortunately we couldn't capture all the magic of this moment on camera, but you could feel the tension. People were sad and frustrated with the situation in Venezuela, and wanted the mess to end. The music provided hope and positivity to the group, and the speeches ended with This is my Venezuela the one with music, dance, and laughing. So it continued, and we were invited to join.
South America knows how to party. Latino culture is one of my favourites, and the Venezuelans do it right. They were teaching us Reggaton, Salsa, Bachata... it was a crazy night, and a highlight for Lexie and I.
Our hearts go out the the Venezuelan people. Myself and my travel companion Lexie Alford visited this beautiful place late 2018, with the mission to show another side of a country in crisis. We planned to show the beauty of the people, and the natural beauty of the country.
This is not a video about the current economical or political situation. This is a Venezeula travel vlog of what we experienced as tourists.

Eurowings GmbH is a German low-cost airline headquartered in Düsseldorf and a fully owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. Founded in 1996, it began as a low-cost alternative to the country's competing major airlines. It serves a network of domestic and European destinations as well as some long-haul routes and maintains bases at Berlin Tegel Airport, Cologne Bonn Airport, Düsseldorf Airport, Hamburg Airport, and Vienna International Airport.
Eurowings has gone through a major transformation in recent years. It was part of Lufthansa Regional until October 2014. At that time it began operating on behalf of Germanwings within their network. Since spring 2015, Eurowings has been redeveloped into a low-cost carrier for short- and long-haul flights. By October 2015, it had also started to incorporate Germanwings' route network as part of the merger of the two brands.
SunExpress Deutschland was founded on the 8 June 2011 as a subsidiary of SunExpress and started operations with three Boeing 737-800. It was founded in order to fly from Germany to the Red Sea using the German AOC. These routes have been served on the 2 November 2011 for the first time and the network has since been extended to several more leisure destinations in Southern Europe and North Africa.
In February 2015, the Lufthansa Group announced that SunExpress Deutschland would be the operator of Eurowings' new long-haul operations which is based at Cologne Bonn Airport from November 2015. SunExpress Deutschland therefore has received leased Airbus A330-200s.As of March 2018 Eurowings bases 3 of 7 Airbus A330-200 aircraft at Munich Airport and offer scheduled long-haul services.
SunExpress Deutschland GmbH is a German leisure airline headquartered in Frankfurt. It is a subsidiary of SunExpress, which itself is a joint-venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. Its main base is Frankfurt Airport with smaller bases at several other airports throughout Germany.
The A330-200 is a shortened, longer-range variant, which entered service in 1998 with Korean Air. Typical range with 253 passengers in a three-class configuration is 13,400 km (7,240 nmi; 8,330 mi). The A330-200 is ten fuselage frames shorter than the original −300, with a length of 58.82 m (193 ft 0 in). To compensate for the smaller moment arm of the shorter fuselage, the vertical stabiliser height of the −200 was increased by 104 cm (40.9 in). The −200's wing was also modified; structural strengthening of the wing allowed the maximum takeoff weight of the −200 to be increased to 229.8 tonnes (507,000 lb). The −200 is offered with three engine types similar to those found on the −300, namely the General Electric CF6-80E, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or Rolls-Royce Trent 700. Airbus also boosted fuel capacity to 139,100 L (36,700 US gal) by adding the centre section fuel tank, standard in the A340.
A new vertical stabilizer was introduced in 2004 beginning with MSN 555. This newer fin is shorter in height by 50 cm (20 in) and was derived from the design of the vertical stabilizer of the A340-500 and -600, later becoming standard on all new A330-200s.
In 2008, Airbus released plans for a higher gross weight version of the A330-200 to more effectively compete against the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The new-build A330-200HGW had a 5 tonne increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight, allowing a 560 kilometres (302 nmi; 348 mi) range increase and a 3.4 tonnes (7,500 lb) payload increase. Korean Air became the first customer on 27 February 2009 with an order for six −200HGWs. Deliveries of the first aircraft started in 2010.

Arles remained economically important for many years as a major port on the Rhône. In the 19th century, the arrival of the railway diminished river trade, leading to the town becoming something of a backwater.

Holy crap! 8 of the Weirdest Toilets in the world | 2016 marks the 180th anniversary of the birth of Thomas Crapper, a pretty famous plumber who invented the modern-day toilet, including the ballcock and the siphonic flush mechanism. What better excuse then to marvel at some of the world's weirdest places to spend a penny, from a mountaintop hut in Switzerland to lip-shaped urinals in a Paris hostel. Take aim, and don't forget to wash your hands!
Aurland public toilets, Aurland, Norway
This beautiful public toilet block was designed by Norwegian architects Todd Saunders and Tommie Wilhelmsen. Enormous windows provide spectacular views of Fjordane, one of the larger fjords on the West Coast of Norway. Luckily, the building’s position – perched on the edge of a sheer cliff – means that privacy is still guaranteed.
Gramazio Kohler public toilet, Ulster, Switzerland
The team at Switzerland-based architects Gramazio Kohler breathed new life into the humble toilet block when they created this beautiful restroom, which can be found in the lakeside Swiss town of Ulster. The exterior walls consist of bright green folded aluminium strips, and the building looks most spectacular on summer days, when sunlight reflects off the metal and creates a shimmering effect.
Lip-shaped urinals, St Chrishopher's Inn, Paris, France
These lip-shaped urinals belong to St Chrishopher’s Inn, a trendy youth hostel close to Paris’s Gare du Nord train station. They were manufactured by Bathroom Mania, a Dutch company specialising in quirky bathroom décor. And there’s obviously high demand for this kind of thing, because another set of pouting urinals can be found at the nearby Belushi's Bar.
Hunderfossen toilet, Hunderfossen waterfall, Norway
Without meaning to be crude, there are certain advantages connected with a public toilet located metres away from a deafening waterfall. The Huldefossen waterfall can be found near Førde – an area famous for having Scandinavia’s southernmost wintertime snow hotel. This particular toilet’s a pretty rough and ready job, although we love the thoughtful addition of a tiny heart-shaped window.
Lobster loos, Wellington, New Zealand
When these New Zealand public toilets were unveiled locals immediately started referring to them as “lobster loos,” much to the chagrin of the people who’d commissioned the building. Bret Thurston is the man behind these designer dunnies, and his winning design was chosen from 28 entries. The toilets are also pretty indestructible – they’re made from concrete and lead and have a unique anti-graffiti coating.
Giovanni Segantini hut, Languard Alp, Switzerland
When it comes to a loo with a view, this patriotic potty gets the gold medal. Teetering on the side of Switzerland’s Languard Alp, the remote Segantini hut is a toilet worth holding out for. It was named after Austrian artist Giovanni Segantini, who was a fan of the stunning view and who died days after making a final visit to this particular spot (the mountain, not the toilet).
Pod toilets, Sketch London, UK
The pod toilets at Sketch London (otherwise known as one of the capital’s coolest bars) might well resemble dinosaur eggs, but they’re actually incredibly hi-tech – when you enter, you’ll be greeted by the soothing soundtrack of nature documentaries. However, it’s not all about modernity; the toilets are kept immaculately clean by a team of frilly pinafore-wearing French maids.
Porcelain House toilets, Tianjin, China
The walls of this beautiful Chinese toilet are covered in pottery. There are vases, tiles, plates and cups, and even the signs denoting male, female and disabled toilets have been painstakingly crafted from tile fragments. The building can be found in the northern city of Tianjin, on the grounds of the Porcelain House – a contemporary museum of pottery and antiques.
