Family Travel with Colleen Kelly - Ireland: Galway to Donegal
Colleen is back in Ireland, but this time she is taking a family friendly tour of the Wild Atlantic Way! Colleen flies into the gateway to the west of Ireland, Shannon Airport where she starts her trip highlighting family friendly attractions in the area. From there, Colleen joins a family on a kayaking expedition in Galway and learns about the local connection to the iconic Claddagh ring. Not far from Galway City, Colleen visits Cnoc Suain, a Gaelic cultural retreat, where she learns about the use of seaweed in the Irish culinary scene, plays the tin whistle with a leading expert and even dances to an Irish tune.
The vacation continues north in Donegal where families learn about the history of the area at Donegal Castle. Other families visited Glencolmcille Folk Village, where families can go back in time and learn about life in Ireland during past centuries. The children learn how rope was made, help spin wool, and even make traditional Bridget’s Crosses, a symbol of luck in Irish homes. Colleen enjoys a catch and cook experience in Killybegs, where she catches a monkfish that she then prepares with the chef at Kitty Kelly’s restaurant. The Wild Atlantic Way offers a unique experience for families who want to experience Ireland’s history, culture and adventure!

HOW we discovered DONEGAL's SECRET waterfall
Our Bed and Breakfast:
After months of searching for this elusive waterfall, we finally found it. Here's our story.
Having first discovered the existence of this waterfall through beautiful photography by Mark Malloy, we became set on it ourselves.
This process took months of reviewing photos on Instagram, videos on youtube, and cryptic news articles, none of which wanted to give away the location.
The seaside here is extremely rich in fossils from the Carboniferous period, with fossils clearly visible all along the walk.
This video is brought to you by Aras BnB located in Glencolmcille, Donegal, Ireland. We are a short 20 minute drive from this amazing waterfall.

I have been lucky to use the chance exploring Irelands coastline, waterfalls, nature, culture and some cool activities like Stand Up Paddleboarding or swimming with Dolphins. I tried to capture my experience in the best way possible by taking timelapse footage and using wide panorama shots in this travel video montage.
I hope you enjoy this Travel Video from Ireland and it gives you a little glimpse what traveling in the Northwest is like and what to do and see on a trip to Ireland - and yes, the Guinness Beer is a very important part, too! ;)

Donegal - The Halls Family Adventure, Chapter Three
Donegal - The Halls Family Adventure 3/3
Chapter Three - Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáin | The Wild Atlantic Way
World Adventurer Monty Halls promotes Donegal as a Family Friendly Adventure Destination.
In Chapter Three Monty, Tam, Isla and Molly visit a remote island and encounter a population of bottlenose dolphins.
TV personality and world adventurer Monty Halls, his wife Tamsyn and daughters Molly and Isla have been travelling all over the county filming with their company Seadog Productions this spring.
Donegal is no stranger to celebrity visitors. Since being named ‘Coolest Place on the Planet’ by National Geographic Traveller in 2017, Donegal has risen to new heights on the global tourism scale.
Monty had previously visited County Donegal and had the opportunity to view basking sharks at Malin Head. Having been to many exciting destinations worldwide, Monty said that his experience in viewing basking sharks at Malin Head was one of the most exciting wildlife encounters of his life.
Monty is well known for his BBC2 series ‘Great Escapes’ and he also presented the multi-award winning series ‘Great Barrier Reef’. In 2014 he worked on the ground-breaking expedition series ‘Lost Worlds’ for the Discovery Channel. Monty has written several books, and is a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers, many of them communicating his enthusiasm for the natural world. Monty has also worked with Channel 4, National Geographic, the History Channel, Channel 5, and the BBC. His most recent WWII's Great Escapes: The Freedom Trails was broadcast in 2017.
Monty Halls is a broadcaster, speaker, naturalist, former Royal Marine, marine biologist, travel writer and leadership specialist. His experience covers over two decades of leading teams in some of the most remote environments on earth, presenting wildlife and adventure documentaries. Most recently Monty and his family spent time on the Galapagos Islands filming ‘My Family and the Galapagos’.
So from the Galapagos Islands to Donegal on the Wild Atlantic Way, Monty and his family have experienced the very best of what our County has to offer. They showcase Donegal to a worldwide audience online as one of the world’s most amazing family friendly adventure destinations.

County Donegal is a great destination for a family holiday or weekend break whatever the weather at any time of the year.
In Donegal the whole family (mum and dad included!) can safely learn to surf, windsurf, kayak or canoe at one of our many Blue Flag beaches. When the sun goes on holiday, there is an excellent choice of indoor attractions, from adventure centres to ten pin bowling and cinemas to soft play. There is no doubt about it County Donegal has enough to keep the kids happy for weeks!

Glencolmcille Folk Village - County Donegal - Ireland
