BEST DAY EVER! ICELAND GLACIER LAGOON - Zodiac Tour Vlog
This may be my best vlog yet - This was the coolest experience ever!! We drove 3 hours from Skogafoss to Glacier Lagoon on a two lane highway through lava fields passing volcanos, black beaches, old river beds, ocean, glaciers, moss, waterfalls (and basically everything else you can imagine that would be beautiful and dope). We decided to book a zodiac tour, I def reccomend booking a tour in advance as it is a far drive and there isn't much else in the area tour wise - so if it's sold out - you might miss your shot! We booked the day before and were able to get on a tour. It was out of this world cool riding in a boat among the icebergs, we saw seals, we drove over some ice - picked some up - got to watch the wall break into the ocean creating a huge wave (which we surfed) and witnessed a glacier flipping!! It was so cool and other worldly, and I'm so glad we got to experience it!! We then drove back and stopped near Vik and Reynisfjara, the black sand beach with the cool rock formations. By the time we got there it was pretty rainy and dark, so we didn't get to stay long - but it was gorgeous!! We took some photos and went home to rest : )

Iceland Travel Guide: Iceland is easily the most *spectacular* place we've travelled to so far. Here's our Top 18 Things you CANNOT miss, to help you get as much out of your trip to Iceland as possible
Iceland Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
With a population of only 300,000, Iceland can feel like the most isolated place on earth, yet its capital Reykjavik, is only a three-hour flight from London and just under six from New York.
Reykjavik is relaxed and welcoming, yet possesses a cultural life that holds its own against other European capitals. Most buildings are built simple and low to beat the North Atlantic winds. However, the city is also graced with grand civic architecture inspired by Iceland’s natural beauty, such as the soaring central tower of Hallgrímskirkja.
Many of the country’s most popular sights are within easy reach of Reykjavík. Immerse yourself in the spirit of Iceland, at the Blue Lagoon. Then spend a day or two in The Golden Circle, an area which encompasses three of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders; Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Field, and Gullfoss.
Iceland’s main ring road strings together an endless series of epic landscapes. Less than two hours drive east of Reykjavik are two of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Continue eastward towards Vík, Iceland’s southern-most village, where you’ll find the dramatic landscapes of Black Beach, Reynisdrangar, and Dyrholaey. Follow the ring road for another two hours into the ethereal light of Jökulsárlón Lake, where icebergs break away from Europe’s largest glacier and float for years before tumbling out to sea.
Head north and feel the earth rumble at Europe’s mightiest waterfall, Dettifoss. Then explore the Myvatn region, a tranquil lake surrounded by nature in all its violent beauty. Take a careful walk through the boiling landscape of Namafjall, lose yourself amid the lava pillars of Dimmuborgir, and peer into the caldera of Krafla Volcano.
Known as the Capital of the North, Akureyri is the perfect place to warm up and enjoy some creature comforts, before heading off into the wilds again. In Iceland, every side road is a story waiting to unfold. So come, and live your own Icelandic story, it’s one you’ll keep telling for the rest of your days.

GLACIER LAGOON - Top locations in Iceland
Book here:
Find out more:
Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon lies on the border of Iceland’s largest national park, Vatnajökull, named after the glacier that dominates this southeastern landscape. Widely referred to as the “Crown Jewel of Iceland” due to its incredible aesthetic quality and unique surrounding nature, Jökulsárlón is one of the most popular visitor destinations in the country.
Guests to the lagoon will look upon the impressive glacier tongue, Breiðamerkurjökull (itself, originating from Vatnajökull), from which enormous icebergs break away before finally coming to float on the water’s still surface. This creates an amazingly serene ambience, interrupted only by the sound of these gentle ice giants grinding into each other.
Whilst at the lagoon, visitors also have the chance to partake in a boat ride, allowing them to get up close and personal with the icebergs in order to achieve some incredible snapshots. If you’re lucky, you might also see some of the resident seals that call Jökulsárlón home.
Only five minutes from the lagoon, guests can also visit Diamond Beach, a stretch of shoreline where the lagoon’s icebergs finally escape into the open Atlantic Ocean. Diamond Beach is one of Iceland’s famous black sand beaches, meaning photographers and nature lovers can relish in the stark contrasts made between the clear white ice and the jet black pebbles.

The land of fire and Ice – “Iceland” is a beacon of nature’s majesty and culture. It’s also quite possibly the strangest place ever. And that’s precisely why you should go - to feel the nature.
