List of cities and towns in Iceland
This is a list of cities and towns in Iceland. Some of Iceland’s larger cities and towns are also self-contained municipalities whose geography and populations are therefore equal. However, most of Iceland’s municipalities, which are semi-autonomous administrative zones, contain several disparate towns or cities, each of whose population contributes to that of its respective municipality.
In addition to Iceland's many independent towns, this article includes cities and towns whose municipalities consist of one, self-contained city of the same name, such as Hafnarfjörður and Akranes. Municipalities that are not also cities or towns, such as Árborg, are not included here, but their constituent towns and cities are. For Árborg, these include the towns of Selfoss, Eyrarbakki, and Stokkseyri.
For more information on the administrative divisions of Iceland, refer to the “Divisions” section of the Iceland infobox on this page.

Iceland - Driving North, Hofn To Akureyri
Driving Iceland’s route 1, the ring road around Iceland.
From the little fishing town of Höfn in the south east to Iceland’s second biggest town, Akureyri in the north.
The drive takes you past the twisted coastline of the eastern fjords then a short cut over the Öxi mountain pass and down to the town of Egilsstaðir.
The road from Egilsstaðir to #Dettifoss takes you past a martian looking landscape.
In the alien landscape of Vatnajökull National Park sits the Dettifoss waterfall. It is the most powerful waterfall in Europe.
Next, the geothermal area of Hverir with it boiling mudpools and steaming fumaroles.
An impressive spectacle but very very stinky!
Finally arriving at Akureyri on the Eyjafjörður Fjord in the north of #Iceland.

Getting Lost In Iceland: A Whistle-Stop Tour - March 2014
Shawn and I went to check out Iceland for a few days. I'm 70% certain that one day I'll witness Shawn fall off a cliff. Also I recommend that you go to Iceland in the Summer, rather than in March.

The spectacular valley of Breiðdalur in East Iceland
The spectacular valley of Breiðdalur is the longest and widest of the valleys in Eastern Iceland. Surrounded by majestic, alpine mountains rising on both sides to over 1100 metres. The valley is dominated by the magnificent peak of Tóartindur over a 1000 m, dividing the valley into the North- and South valleys.
There are good views of Breiðdalur from Breiðdalsheiði, an ancient eroded volcano on the main highway , with the impressive Breiðdalsá river, famous for salmon-fishing, winding its way across the valley basin to the sea
