In this video we’re showing you around Vienna (Wien). After spending a few days in Tirol, the capital was our next stop and what a change of scenery. We swapped snow-capped mountains for some of the most elegant streets of Europe in Wien, Österreich.
Vienna is a city of imperial palaces, countless museums and grand coffee houses, and it was a feast for the eyes.
We can already tell you that one week was not enough to see it all, but in this video we’ll do our best to show you some of Vienna’s highlights!

Hungarian Food - Eating Goulash and our favorite Hungarian cuisine in Budapest, Hungary
Join us as we devour Hungarian food at our favorite restaurant (Kék Rózsa Étterem - The Blue Rose Restaurant) in Budapest, Hungary sampling Goulash and some of our other favorite dishes including appetizers, mains, wine and dessert. Typical Hungarian cuisine is often hearty meals and this meal in particular really fit the stereotype as it was heavy in carbs and potatoes featuring rich meats, local wines and decadent dessert. All in all this is what we had for our lunch in Budapest, Hungary:

Hungarian Food - Eating Goulash and our favorite Hungarian cuisine in Budapest, Hungary Travel Food Video Transcript:
Well hello from Budapest and welcome to yet another delicious food video. Today we're going to be trying Hungarian food and if there is one dish you can't miss it is Goulash (gulyás). So we have ordered one goulash (gulyás) but we've also ordered a beef stew to go along with that because apparently the goulash is more soupy. So we're going to be comparing those two dishes, the red wine is already here. So cheers. And let's wait for the food to arrive.
Okay, so we're starting off with a dry red. This is called a Villány Kuvi and apologies in advance for butchering Hungarian names.
So apparently the word Goulash it used to mean herdsmen so this is a dish that used to be prepared by the herdsmen and now it is kind of like the national dish. You find goulash (gulyás) at almost every single restaurant. Yeah. So let's dig right in.
And this looks amazing.
Okay,, so we ordered a little appetizer. I believe this is called Lángos. And it is basically a potato scone with garlic. So I'm just going to bite right in.
Hungarian potato scone pancakes (Lángos). Mmmm.
So this is basically more like a beef stew (Pörkölt). This has like a looks like to have a thick hearty type of sauce gravy on top of it and then over here this appears to be potatoes with parsley and other ingredients.
So we have having something I believe it is called Somlo (Somlói Galuska) it could be pronounced differently that is how it is written. But it is basically a sponge cake with whipped cream and ice cream (Somlói Galuska) and it has chocolate drizzled over top and rum. And walnuts. Oh wow.
So it is time for price point. It is a little bit sad because that meal was just so good. One of those things where you don't ever want it to end. We'll be coming back. We absolutely will be coming back. I actually think we'll be do another food video here. The food was that good.
I think we'll come back again. But anyways in terms of price point it was 6020 Forent which is 20 Euros and that was excellent value because this is what we got. We had two soda waters, two glasses of wine, two mains, an appetizer to share and a dessert to share. So for 10 Euros per person we can't go wrong and what I really liked about this restaurant was that the focus was on the food not on the decour. It kind of had that like bodegon type of feel that you find in Argentina where it is kind of rustic inside, very traditional. Traditional kind of like family restaurant.
It locally is called uh Kék Rózsa Étterem but in English you call it The Blue Rose Restaurant. And man that this was a find. We will definitely be back and uh yeah if you are in Budapest, Hungary and you're looking for a good place to have traditional Hungarian food highly recommend this spot. This was wonderful.

Prag die goldene Stadt an der Moldau
Mit Kameras und Video-Ausrüstung verbrachten einige Mitglieder der Video-Aktiven im Jahr 2007 ein verlängertes Wochenende in Prag. Mit der Czech Airline sind sie von Braunschweig nach Prag geflogen. Dort hatten sie vier Tage Zeit, eine der schönsten Hauptstädte Europas mit den Kameras zu erkunden. Die herrlichen Sonnentage Anfang Oktober machten es möglich, ein im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes Goldenes Prag zu erleben und festzuhalten. Stadtführungen in der Altstadt und auf der Prager Burg sorgten für hervorragende Informationen und gute Aufnahmepositionen.
Viele unserer Touren durch Prag begannen am Wenzelsplatz. Es ist ein fast einen Kilometer langer Boulevard. Die meisten Häuser dort sind wunderschön renoviert. Von dort ging es hinunter zur Moldau, wo man einen herausragenden Blick auf die Karlsbrücke und die Prager Burg genießen konnte. Wir sind jeden Tag, wenn wir in der Stadt waren, über diese Brücke gebummelt. Sie ist mit ihren Figuren und den beiden Brückentürmen ein Wahrzeichen Prags. Hier war immer viel Betrieb und es gab viel zu sehen, seien es Musiker oder Maler, die von vielen Besuchern umgeben waren.
Unsere junge, hübsche Reiseführerin, Petra, eine angehende Jurastudentin, führte uns durch den Park des Waldsteinpalais. Sie zeigte uns die historische Innenstadt mit ihren prächtig renovierten Gebäuden. Der Altstädter Ring lieferte uns ein atemraubendes Panorama, das mit seiner Architektur aus vielen Jahrhunderten einmalig ist.
Am nächsten Vormittag führte uns unsere Reiseleiterin in die Prager Burg mit dem St. Veitsdom. Man kann dort leicht einen ganzen Tag verbringen. Von dieser wohl größten Burg der Welt hat man einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Stadt mit ihren über hundert Türmen. Hier residiert auch der tschechische Präsident. Zu unserem Glück kamen wir gerade zur Wachablösung an, einem fotogenen Spektakel, und konnten alles davon aufnehmen.
Mit dem Bau des Doms wurde bereits im vierzehnten Jahrhundert begonnen. Erst sechshundert Jahre später wurde er fertiggestellt. In der Burg sahen wir auch das berühmte Fenster, des Prager Fenstersturzes. Zurück ging es dann durch das schmale Goldene Gässchen, das seinen Namen den früher dort lebenden Alchemisten verdankt. Mit den kleinen, bunten Häusern, in denen heute die verschiedensten Andenken, Antiquitäten und Kunstwerke angeboten werden, ist es ein richtiges Schmuckstück. Nach dieser eingehenden Besichtigung brauchten wir Zerstreuung. Die einen machten eine Bootsfahrt auf der Moldau, andere wiederum gingen in die Luft und genossen in einem Fesselballon die schöne Aussicht.
Im Theater ,,Laterna Magika erlebten wir eine Vorstellung mit dem schon tausendfach gespielten Paradestück Der Zauberzirkus, einer Aufführung voller videographischer Illusionen, mit perfekt abgestimmten, pantomimischen Tanzszenen und Schwarzem Theater.

Polish Food - Eating Pierogi taste test in Krakow, Poland
Join us for our favorite Polish food as we eat Pierogi in the form of a taste test (both savory and sweet) in Krakow, Poland.
We found a restaurant called Pierogarnia - Słowiańska Uczta on our first full day in Krakow after shopping for some groceries just across the street. We ended up eating there on a whim and what a pleasant surprise it was. The pierogi served at this restaurant are some of the best we've ever had and we ended up going back several times.
All in all we tried 40 different pierogi for this video including savory and dessert options. It was a feast of feasts.

Polish Food - Eating Pierogi taste test in Krakow, Poland travel food video transcript:
So it is our first day here in Poland in Krakow. In Krakow.
And anyways we've got Pierogi on our minds. We are going to get pierogies. Oh and we're so hungry. We even we're even crossing the river to go find it today. We've been willing to cross a river to go have pierogi. That shows how dedicated we are.
This is awesome. Like this is a gigantic menu just outside of the restaurant here.
So we are kicking off our first full day in Krakow with pierogies. What else?
The most popular Polish dish. This is something that everyone knows about. Even in Canada we've got like frozen pierogi. So it is popular.
They are not nearly as good as the freshly made ones. No. Here in Poland. But yeah. It is something that kind of we are kind of subsisting off of pierogies in the winter in Canada. Yes. When we were in Kingston a few years ago.
It is like a really hearty meal. You know when it is cold out and you just need something that is going to fill you up and sit there for a few hours. Pierogi always a good idea.
But it is summer here but we're still going to have them anyways. We're still having it. Yeah. And actually we had some yesterday at the train station but it was just like a quick little snack and it wasn't amazing.
This place literally specializes in them. This is their menu. And we spotted this place yesterday when we were heading to our apartment so we like we're coming back. We placed four orders.
And each order comes with 10 pierogi so that is 40 pierogies that we're going to be eating for just 2 of us. 20 each!
So 20 plump savory dumplings have showed up at our table.
So we ordered two savory kinds. I think the first one was the Ruskie. Ruskie or something which is the traditional one which is like mashed potatoes and cheese.
And the other one we got fancy. We got like mushrooms, feta and something else. No, wasn't it walnuts or something?
So yeah oh and it comes with like caramelized onions on top. Wow. So let's try this.
We ate 40. We ate 40 pierogi. I feel like we deserve a gold medal in like the gluttony olympics or something.
That was I wonder what the record is?
How many pierogies. Has one person ate. Did we just break a Guinness World Record here?
But that was pretty much the ultimate pierogi taste test. Two savories, two dessert pierogi. I mean if you're going to try Polish food you absolutely have to try pierogi. And we really lucked out with this place. We didn't find it in a guidebook or even a recommendation we just while we were getting groceries last night and we walked by it.
That is going past. Anyways, yeah that maybe they are coming to rescue me because my belly is about to explode.
But anyways yeah I think we'll be coming back here for sure. We've got a whole week ahead of us. We'll be coming back here for pleasure and uh yeah pierogi in Poland guys.
You've got to try it. And price point for this meal?
So it was 56 Zloty which roughly is 13 Euros and that included our two drinks and 40 pierogi.
Yeah, it was pretty good value as well. Now time for a nap. Time for an enormous siesta.
