Jimramov is a market town in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. The town covers an area of 21.99 square kilometres , and has a population of 1,185 . Jimramov lies approximately 22 kilometres east of Žďár nad Sázavou, 53 km north-east of Jihlava, and 139 km east of Prague. The town was ravaged and burned to ground by the Swedish armies during Thirty Years' War. Karel Slavíček, the first Czech sinologist and author of the first precise map of Beijing, was born in townsquare's house Czech: U Slunce in 1678.
